Amen! The very meaning of "Immanuel", [necessarily] implies it. "God With Us" is not symbolic nor metaphorical. This is just one of many plays on words, in stark literal fashion that to my mind nails down who Jesus is: From Eden til the New Jerusalem of Rev 21, God With Us is the theme and the reason for creating the universe, though expressed different ways, such as "God himself will dwell among them; they will be his people and and he will be their God." And in Rev 21 and its context, this 'God' referred to is pretty obviously Jesus Christ, as such, though not to the exclusion of the Father and the Spirit.
