Juneau airport was built 50 years ago about 20 feet above sea level, and 5 miles from a glacier. Nothing has happened. This is true all over SE AK (Ket, Sit, Gus, Yak which are all near glaciers and at sea level, and 3 are in 'entrapped' tides where rises show first, right? because it takes a while for tides to disperse overflow).

1, are the monitors in the most geographic remote sites of the N and S Pacific and N and S Atlantic? That is the only true average. You can't get this info close to shore; see above about 'entrapped' tides.

2, what if a Japan 2015 earthquake happens? All measuring has to start over and I'm not kidding. You either do it right or you shut up. Do they suppose that the crust is a fixed point? Idiots. Has the amount of submarine volcanic growth been factored?

Here is my in-person experience with things like this. In my home area west of Seattle, an ITT Rayonier plant was removed for pollution to the Olympics 10 miles south. The prevailing wind is not south, but the 2nd is. I thought there was something to this because I never liked the odor. I have lived there 50 years and near ObstructionPt in this area is a neat off-trail view of several high lakes, and in a series of Augusts I started viewing them to see how much ice was staying. On one of those trips I came across a U WA monitor that said it had been collecting data about the ITT Rayonier contamination of the area. It was indeed the 2nd wind pattern fall out; you could see the mill site below at the shore. I wrote to the email address. It was now 40 years since removal and so I asked the Ph.D. candidate, since I have hiked here 50 years, what should I be looking for as contamination of the area that was so dire. The answer came back that it wasn't really for observing that, but rather as a base for minimal nitrogen levels compared to across the state. But I said it is posted as collecting the terrible contamination that caused a specialize x-ray paper plant to be dismantled. What should I see--I could not notice anything, nor where there public notices as there are about other things like reveg projects or sudden storm changes, etc. Nothing. No discoloration, no dead trees, no restoration programs of animal species or of plants because of the horrible mess sounding like a Valdez oil spill. The candidate never answered. That's American environmental research for you.

I have lived around the Puget/Salish area for 50 years. There is no such indication. I have been to sites all along a 100 mile coast there since I was a kid. There is no such indication.

I'm confused about the last line. I was asking for the meaning of the article. Or at least the line. It's gobbledegook by bankrupt scientists. What is the phenomenon if not the floods? (phenomenon = manifestation; noumenon = concept/theory). A theory without examples is a platitude.

I don't think there is any point in disputing the degree changes you mentioned, but it is moot. Sampling methods are often at fault. And the claim is climate change. In the 1500s there was the little ice age. Climates change. In the 60s, 70s, 80s, Time mag, speaking for the science community, said there would be freezing, warming and freezing. Who cares?

Isn't it obvious that it you and your ilk are the ones who who panicking. It is apparent the our kids understand that there is a problem and that their parents (not all parents) are desperately trying to sweep under the rug in the hope that what we can't except will miraculously go away.
