I would think a befitting name to name the bride of all the nations. Some have turned it into a derogatory word. Like Bible thumper.or fishy people

As the anointing Holy Father He alone is the infallible interpreter who lovingly commands us ( not just a good philosophical suggestion to toss around the campfire) empowering us "to study" rightly dividing his word (sola scriptura) that we might seek his unsen Holy approval .

Some refuse to obey the loving commandment and rather seek after dying mankind as the infalible interpreter as if we seek the approval of dying mankind rather than eternal God not seen

Remember God has no dying flesh and blood He pours out His Spirit life on dead flesh . The word Christ refers to the anointing Holy Spirit of God the infalible teacher, the Holy Spirit of our Holy Father

Christ as eternal Spirit has no dying earthen body as dust or flesh and spiritless blood .Blood without the life of the spirit is dead . The life of the flesh is in the blood but that life is the unseen Spirit of life of one Almighty God .And not a legion of Holy fathers

Also, not sure how your next statement about the Old Testament ( law ) preaching the New ( Testimony ) as Two working as one when the Old Covenant is vanishing in light of the New Covenant.

In regards to your reference to 1 Peter 1:9-12 I think it is important to point out what that suffering is and that is by ceasing from sin with His help.

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

The two temporal and eternal must be mixed according to 2 Corinthians 4:18 below or no gospel rest according to Hebrew 4:1-2

Why would think it is not a parable ?

I shall repost your reference.... for you to point out how it is a story symbolizing something when I am reading about a literal contract; a New Covenant that God is making with us.

I see the reality being preached here and not anything symbolic or a "representation" of our reality. Peter is saying this. Not Jesus.

But parables are meant to illustrate a truth whereas this is referring tie the reality of the unseen, but it is still a reality rather than symbolic.

In the case of Luke 16:19-31 It is not stated as a parable but it can be seen as a parable to illustrate a truth even though I believe Jesus is actually giving a true account of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus in the after life.
