DESTRUCTION OF HISTORY
I have been carrying a wounded spirit since the lop-sided liberal wing of our culture initiated the destruction of history. More than 160 monuments and memorials relating to the Confederate States have been removed or destroyed—many demolished by schizophrenic and evil-minded haters. In 2020, the statue of Robert E. Lee in Richmond was removed. And I could go on-and-on. Where will the history-haters go next? Should we hide and stash away old photos depicting the Civil War and other historical battles?

If I had lived during the Civil War days, I would not have been either a Confederate or a Union soldier. Like today, I would have been an Independent. What I detest is that regardless of who or what we are or would have been, it is despicable and inexcusable to ravage history—for history reveals to us who we are, who we were, and how we managed major and world events while they were unfolding. History can be either a positive or negative impact, depending on the angle from which we view it. History devastators are not wanted! Follow the path that leads to Hades, if you wish, but do not try to drag us peacemakers along.—Buff.

How about we take an open, honest, and biblical approach to history with a biblical mindset understanding everything passes away eventually. I'm 65 years old. I remember segregation. As a consequence, I also know and understand the enormous progress made just in my lifetime - as well as how much racism (and other bigotry) persists. I understand I can hold a door open for a black person without having the KKK visit me. I also understand a black person can - and often does - open the door for me out of mutual respect or simple courtesy and not fear the KKK will come visit him/her if s/he doesn't. I understand many young people read the words I just wrote and understand the English, but have little clue about its meaning. Thurgood Marshall once told Andrew Young, "You have no idea what it means to go into a McDonald's and buy a hamburger." That experience is lost to an entire generation and will remain unknown to many more.

Hating haters can prove both ironic and paradoxical.

Personally, I think much of the blame lies at the feet of Christians, not "the lop-sided liberal wing of our culture." The problem is not that they do what they do (if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is probably a duck), but that for the better part of a century Christians failed to do what they were supposed to do and sadly it took Roe v Wade to awaken us out of our slumber, lethargy, and acquiescence.

If you have not already read it, then get a copy of Francis Schaeffer's trilogy and read it. Develop a Christian worldview applicable to all circumstances of life - including lopsided liberals and history-haters. Buff, if you live in the continental US, you buy the book, read it in its entirety, and tell me you did not benefit from doing so I will send you the money to pay for the book. Next to the Bible, Schaeffer's trilogy and Packer's "Knowing God" should be read by every Christian.

There is a hidden reason for this destruction and it is that there a self-styled "elite", who want to create a "Great Reset" (their expression). In order to do this, they know that they must undermine liking for, and trust in, the present order - hence the current stirring up of hatred for the past by groups like the Soros-funded BLM, Antifa and other extreme Left-wing organisations. Included in this is the fake history of the 1619 Project, to create a false narrative about the foundations of the American nation.

It's easier to stir up such hatred in the U.S. than in my country (Britain), because of organisations like the KKK, which had no hold here; nevertheless, they are attempting to do something similar here, with less success, so far.

Very insightful, David1701.
