What is the gospel

Yeah, the doctrines of Grace emphasis is on grace salvation. The Doctrines of Grace provide the framework. Jesus preached election in His sermon in Lk 4 and folk was ready to kill Him. In Jn 6 He taught total depravity, election, perseverance, the effectual call. Jn 10 was about limited atonement. Most of His hearers were unbelievers. What about the gentile women He told He came only for lost sheep of house of Israel ? She wasnt discouraged because she was given the gift of faith in Him. And the Apostles preached what He preached
?? What's your point?

Paul is writing to people who are already saved.

Sure but he is writing things to them he already taught them in the Gospel of Grace, he just didnt spring it on them His writings were to confirm and strengthen them in the Faith. Its not even imaginable that Paul preached the Gospel of Gods Grace and shunned election of grace. Acts 20:24-27

24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

That word counsel is in Pauls epistle to the Ephesians 1:11

in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

So i'm sure he preached to them election and predestination according to the purpose and counsel of God, he didn't shun it

That election is a foundational gospel truth, I thought i already said that is my point.
It is, but that is not the question or the issue as to what is essential in introducing unbelievers to the gospel. Just stop arguing with everyone about everything.

The Doctrines of Grace need to be included in any explaining of the Gospel of Gods Grace. Acts 20:24

24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Can that be done without emphasizing the election of grace in the purpose of Gods Salvation ? Rom 11:5-6

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works:
otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

As you can see Paul uses "election of grace" and by grace interchangeably, and surely when testifying of the Gospel there is a mention that salvation is by grace.
I think I miss what you're saying. What is the gospel?

@John Bauer

Yes but not Just all sinners are included in the people He purposed to save Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

2 Tim 1:9

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

This purpose and grace is brought to light by the Gospel Vs 10

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
If a stranger asked you, what is the gospel? You would answer with this you posted?

Exactly what I said. You have lost track of the subject and your original statement, and made it your own subject, not that of the OP.
Its not even imaginable that Paul preached the Gospel of Gods Grace and shunned election of grace. Acts 20:24-27
I never said he did or even hinted at such a thing, In fact I said he did teach them about it---but that is not what he was doing in the scripture you quote to show that when we present what the gospel to a non-believer, we have to preach at that time, the Doctrines of Grace. WHich is the claim you made. Perhaps you don't know that the DoG are the doctrines in TULIP and you only meant we preach that salvation is by grace and not works. I agree with that as an necessary part of preaching the gospel. If that is all you meant, just say so, and we can move on. I assumed when you said the DoG must be preached as part of the gospel, that that is what you meant.

The DoG has three other doctrines that precede and of necessity lead into irresistible (effectual) grace. Salvation is by grace even apart from Total Depravity. Unconditional Election, and Limited Atonement. The fact that you are breathing or had food for breakfast is by the grace of God. It is grace because God owes no one anything and they can do nothing to merit anything from him, certainly not forgiveness of sin and eternal life. All of that is Christian doctrine.

The gospel on the other hand is who Jesus is, what he did, and why he did it, and how his work is applied to a person (by grace and through faith).

Most people stop there and forget about Christ ascention and return at the rapture then again at the second coming.
Are you saying the rapture is part of the gospel? If someone asked, What is the gospel, you would tell them about being raptured.

Our job in preaching the gospel is to make Christ and his work and our need, known.
This is thought-provoking.

Lately, I personally feel a little different about this. The part about making our need known.

How so?

You were proposing that the Doctrines of Grace needed to be a part of preaching the gospel to an unbeliever. The DoG are the doctrines in TULIP.

Read my post #10. I say it is by grace.
Right, the doctrines of grace explain the gospel truths, but it is not the gospel.

Paul is writing to people who are already saved. They know it is election and by grace, In all the epistles it is presumed that as established churches, they already know the doctrine of effectual grace in unconditional election. Paul states the doctrine in his use of language but he is not specifically teaching the doctrine of unconditional election. Salvation by grace and election/predestination are two different doctrines that are related to each other.
Amen!

The gospel on the other hand is who Jesus is, what he did,
Amen! I believe this is it, this is the gospel plain and simple. Anything else is about the gospel.
The gospel: Who Jesus is and what Jesus has done.

Does the gospel include that a person must admit confess they are a sinner?
