Hell is suffering . Nothing more and nothing less .
Yoked with Christ he shares the pain of living in a body of death (dead) All die without receiving the new incorruptible.
Hell is defined by the sufferings of one crying out for strength . God does nor hear the prayer of the dead (necromancy)The condemned still are cut off from the living in death for all eternity.
Hell is more than a mistranslation, it's a premeditated deliberate assault on scripture to introduce the Teutonic pagan word.
Are you talking about the English word "hell?" I am sure you know that the bible was written in Hebrew and Greek, and had to be translated into English. So the English word "hell" wasn't added to the bible; it was used to translate various Greek and Hebrew words in the original. Although the English word "hell" may have its origins in pagan religions, that doesn't mean that when we use that word today, we must be embracing or supporting pagan beliefs, just as when we say, "I will meet you on Wednesday," we don't mean that we believe in the Norse god Odin, after whom Wednesday takes its name. The word Hell comes from the Pagan religions, and was added to the bible in place of other words.
"Belly of Hell" are not in the original text.Hell is defined by the sufferings of one crying out for strength . God does nor hear the prayer of the dead (necromancy)
Jonah 2King James Version2 Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly,And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
Matthew 26:38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Two witnesses. . belly of whale and heart of earth. Two metaphors used in that parable to represent sufferings living in a body of death .Under the appointed to die once
Hell as a false doctrine. . the oral foundation of Limbo Purgatory the suffering never ends. In that way the Queen of heaven is attributed of continuing to comfort with no end in sight. to even comfort some of the Protestants.
Trouble with the wife . ."Belly of the Whale". Stop paying taxes "heart of the earth" LOL
Yoked with Christ our belly of hell can be lighter with a living hope beyond what the eyes see.
Sheol and Hades both translate- the GRAVE.Some deny the existence of hell, but the Bible clearly teaches it, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
MANY MISUNDERSTAND the subject, and some still hold to the heathen doctrine of eternal torture, which was attached to Christianity early in the Dark Ages, and so they believe in hell as viewed by the heathen instead of in the hell of the inspired Word of God.
- It's important that we examine carefully and learn thoroughly the Bible teachings on hell. The only Old Testament word translated hell is sheol, to which the New Testament word Hades corresponds. In the King James Version the Old Testament word, sheol and the New Testament word, hades are translated hell 41 times, grave 32 times and pit 3 times. Frequently when translated hell, the margin reads, “or, the grave,” or vice versa (Psa. 49: 15; Jonah 2: 1, 2).
- Contrary to the idea that hell is a place of fire and torture the Bible says, “there is no work, or device, or knowledge, or wisdom, in the grave [sheol], where you are going”; “in death there is no remembrance of you. In the grave [sheol] who shall give You thanks”; “the grave [sheol] cannot praise You: death cannot celebrate You” (Eccl. 9: 10; Psa. 6:5).
- Good people, as well as bad, go to sheol (hell) at death. Jesus “poured out His soul to death” (Matt. 26: 38), and descended to hell, but “His soul [His being] was not left in hell” (Acts 2: 27, 31).
- In Old English the word hell simply meant to hide or to cover. To "hell potatoes" meant to plant and cover them with earth. The word hell is properly used as signifying the secret or hidden condition of the dead. It had no reference whatever to a place of torture until that meaning was attached to it from heathen superstitions and theologians of the Dark Ages.
- When God told Adam of sin’s penalty, He did not say “In the day that you eat of it you shall live forever in torture,” but He told him the truth: “you shall surely die, i.e., cease to live” (Gen. 2: 17).
- Contradicting God, Satan told the first lie (John 8: 44), “You will not surely die” (Gen. 3: 4), by which he has since deceived many into believing that the dead are not really dead, but that at death they live on, and without waiting for the resurrection day (John 5: 28), go directly into heaven or into eternal torment.
- The Bible states plainly that “the soul who sins shall die” (Ezek. 18: 4); that “the wages of sin is death” [cessation of life, not life in torment]. On the other hand, the gift of God is eternal life (Rom. 6: 23) through Jesus Christ.
- Do you not see, that if the penalty against Adam and his race had been eternal torment, Jesus would have had to suffer an eternity of torture to redeem the human race? On the contrary, the “wages of sin is death,” “Christ died for our sins,” He tasted death for every man; and He “was raised from the dead” (1 Cor. 15: 3, 4). God through Christ ransoms all, not from eternal torture, but “from the power of the grave [sheol]” (Hos. 13: 14).
- Eventually “all that are in the grave shall hear His [Jesus’] voice, and shall come forth” (John 5: 28, 29 RSV). When sheol or hades delivers up all who sleep in Adamic death, sheol and hades will forever cease to exist. “O grave [sheol] I will be your destruction.”
- Sodom and Gomorrah are set forth by God “as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (Jude 7) then; the fire that is not burning any longer did destroy those cities, and brought upon them destruction. These will be awakened in the world’s judgment day (John 5: 28). However, they will not be reinstated to their former wicked condition.
- The word translated “tormented” in Rev. 20: 10 should have been rendered “tested” or “examined;” the devil, the beast and the false prophet will be examined forever by the righteous, and recognized as deserving destruction.
- The wicked “shall be punished with everlasting destruction” (2 Thessalonians 1: 9). Moreover, they “shall go away into everlasting punishment” [not everlasting life in torture, but death], (Matt. 25:46); “for sin, when it is finished, brings forth death” (James 1: 15); everlasting death is everlasting punishment. But the righteous only will have life eternal (John 3: 36).
- “God is love” and He desires us to “worship Him in spirit and in truth,” out of love for Him, not because of fear of punishment now and in the hereafter.
“Perfect love casts out fear” [dread]. (1 John 4: 8-12)
Sheol only translates as "grave."Sheol and Hades both translate- the GRAVE.
The dead are in the grave-Hades=Sheol=100% fact.Sheol only translates as "grave."
Ha-des (hadez) [[Greek Haides ]] 1 Greek Myth. Home of the dead beneath the earth. The god of the underworld. Hades (/ˈheɪdiːz/; Greek: ᾍδης, translit. Háidēs; Ἅιδης. Háidēs), in the ancient Greek religion and myth, Hades is the god of the dead and the king of the underworld, with which his name is synonymous with Hell.
Gods word mentions it over and over-- Matt 16:18--Luke 10:15--Acts 2:31--Rev 1:18Hades is a Greek myth.
Pagan Christians added it to scriptures. First used in the Greek Old Testament in place of the Hebrew word "sheol." (grave)Gods word mentions it over and over-- Matt 16:18--Luke 10:15--Acts 2:31--Rev 1:18
The Greek version is most likely bogus. Hades= the grave in Gods bible.
Thus-Hades= the grave. Yes Hades is the Greek word for the Hebrew word Sheol.Pagan Christians added it to scriptures. First used in the Greek Old Testament in place of the Hebrew word "sheol." (grave)
Hades was the god of the underworld and the ruler of the dead. He was the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, and the brother of Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera, and Hestia. Hades was also known as Pluto or Pluton, which means "the wealthy one" or "the giver of wealth".Thus-Hades= the grave. Yes Hades is the Greek word for the Hebrew word Sheol.
You are reading a parable. Touch stoned means rubbed out which mean "DEAD."Okay.
Question.
Where does Rev 20:10 fit in this idea that hell is not biblical but Pagan?
And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Is it safe to believe they will not suffer eternal punishment then?
Both of these words in Revelation comes from the root “basanos,” which is defined by Strong’s as “a touchstone.” Webster defines the word “touchstone” as: “1. A stone by which metals are examined; a black, smooth, glossy stone… 2. Any test or criterion by which the qualities of a thing are tried; as money, the touchstone of common honesty.” |
In Greek mythology,( something twisted by satan) It doesn't exist. The grave is real. The bible says Jesus went to Hades= the Grave for 3 days.Hades was the god of the underworld and the ruler of the dead. He was the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, and the brother of Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera, and Hestia. Hades was also known as Pluto or Pluton, which means "the wealthy one" or "the giver of wealth".
It does not say that. It says tormented day and night yada, yada. You are reading a parable. Touch stoned means rubbed out which mean "DEAD."
Revelation 20:10
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be (Touchstone / tormented) day and night for ever and ever.
In regards to Rev 14:10 and 20:10
The words "day and night" in the bible are used figurative and literally. Figuratively "day and night" means "continually."
Both of these words in Revelation comes from the root “basanos,” which is defined by Strong’s as “a touchstone.” Webster defines the word “touchstone” as: “1. A stone by which metals are examined; a black, smooth, glossy stone… 2. Any test or criterion by which the qualities of a thing are tried; as money, the touchstone of common honesty.”
This might strike you as interesting considering that the definition of the Greek word that was translated as “torment,” not only has nothing to do with eternal conscious torment, but it is actually a process that tests purity. So we can see that to be tormented in these verses is compared to being rubbed out upon a touchstone.
