Some things written by the RCC are shocking.

Are you not familiar with Linus even from scripture?
Here is ALL the Scripture on A PERSON named "Linus" ...

2 Ti 4:21 [NKJV] 21 Do your utmost to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, as well as Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brethren.

Now you just need to prove:
  1. Peter WAS bishop of Rome.
  2. Peter annotated Linus as his successor.
  3. Paul's Linus is the same Linus as the alleged Second Bishop of Rome.
  4. Jesus Authority actually passed to "Peter" the rock and that authority was EVER transferable to other men.
  5. Jesus changed his mind when he said Rulers in His kingdom would not be like Rulers in the world and crave power and authority for themselves but the greatest would be a "slave" to all (as Jesus' life demonstrated).

Easy... follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit who protects His Catholic Church... the pillar of truth; wisdom of God made known through her; keys to Peter; he who hears you hears me; etc.

OK, I'll respond (although I am unsure of the relavence).

A believer that knew the truth. [FYI: not the Pope or Magisterium.]

Yes. Per Romans 10:14-15 How then are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? How are they to believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? But how are they to preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!" [NASB]
I was responding to his post in number 15 but thanks

The eunuch had scripture God sent an apostle to teach him

The new covenant is governed by Christ’s authority in hierarchy

The new covenant is governed by Christ’s authority in hierarchy
  • Priscilla and Aquilla ... Sent by God without stopping to ask the "authority in hierarchy".
  • Saul/Paul ... appointed by God external to the "authority in hierarchy".
  • James (brother of Jesus) was head of the Church in Jerusalem (independent of government by Apostolic Succession).

... by the testimony of two or three witnesses every fact may be established. [Mat 18:16]

Who did the spirit send to the eunuch in acts 8?

Did the eunuch obey him?

Hi Don Thanks

How would sola scriptura the sword of the Holy Father define that ?

The gospel was preached through the prophet Philip. Philip an apostle a sent messenger was given an answer from the Holy Father beginning in the same scripture (sola scriptura) prophesied preaching.

Then God demanded the chariot to stand still and moved them both to be baptized to show they had already ben baptized by the living word (sola scriptura)

Acts 8: 34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both (the witness of two) into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

The focus is never on dying flesh and blood.

He had scripture
God sent an apostle with authority to teach as per matt 28:19 “go and teach”

Apostles remain unto the end of the world and the ends of the earth
Matt 28:19-20 acts 1:8
It doesn't say that in those verses ... you handle the word carelessly:

Matthew 28:18-20 [NASB] 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
  • NOTHING about "Apostles" or "apostolic succession" ... just a command to pass on what they had received and create new "followers".
  • ALL AUTHORITY rests in JESUS (according to v. 18), not in men. The RCC would do well to start at v.18 and take note.
  • The Greek word translated "baptizing" literally means "IMMERSING, WHELMING, PLUNGING UNDER" [As a Baptist, I enjoy making that point.]
  • Jesus promised to be with THEM ("you") to the end of the age ... not with their hand-picked successors. Men choosing leaders failed in the OT and it failed in the Medieval Church. God requires no assistance in selecting whom HE will use.

Acts 1:8 [NASB] 8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth."
  • Remind me again, HOW MANY people were in the upper room in Acts 2? [It ain't about Apostolic Authority and Power].
  • You are making my point ... Priscilla and Aquilla, Saul/Paul, James (brother of Jesus) ... power and authority to expand the Kigdom independent of the TWELVE! (no government by Apostolic Succession, even in the FIRST CENTURY!)

Baptists never received the keys, nor did they have hands laid on them through the proper authority.
Neither did the Pope, from the first RCC Pope to the last.

You still have to show from God's mouth where He says the RCC is His church. It can't be His church because it venerates men and women, gives the Pope the name of God, worships idols, allows sexual immorality of the lowest forms, dictates the interpretation of His word. Inserts itself into the place Christ and His grace, eats human Flesh and drinks human blood, established a priesthood that was done away with When Jesus was seated as the only Priest interceding between God and man, trampling again His blood underfoot. Shall I go on?

Not possible for the original apostles to teach all nations to the end of the earth

Christ
Apostles
Apostolic fathers
Bishops
Until Christ returns

established a priesthood that was done away with When Jesus was seated as the only Priest interceding between God and man
This point needs to be in the conversation.
Christ's priesthood was after the order of Melchizedek.
Was Melchizedek offering Abraham human flesh & blood or bread & wine?

Nope he was not.

Christ
God said this.

God chose these men.

Apostolic fathers
Men added this to the Word of God.

Men completely changed what God ordained into a human power-wielding hierarchy that directly contradicts the teaching of Jesus on “rulers” in His kingdom.

Until Christ returns
God said this.

QED.
The issue is not with Jesus plan or what God will do “until Jesus returns”, but with the human oral traditions that got added to it and corrupted the message and plan of Christ. Jesus had the same issue with the HUMAN TRADITIONS that the Jews added to God’s OT Laws (so why on earth would God want to recreate that FAILURE in His new covenant?).

Suppose there is no unsourced quote. The question is still there. ;)
Yeppers.
I feel confident that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ does not want us to seek our rest on Satan's bosom.
Perhaps silly ol' Catherine didn't realize Satan was to be crushed underfoot, not snuggled up to.
