A Case For Amillenialism

What are you talking about? You asked who the "restrainer" was (a question to which I had previously given you the answer), so I told you again.

Of course you can disagree. You're wrong, but it's your prerogative to be wrong.

Dispensationalism developed from teaching by a Roman Catholic (Futurism, which was designed to take the heat off the papacy and Roman Catholicism). The Reformation had really begun to take off, when it was realised that the office of Pope is the anti-Christ and that Roman Catholicism is the Whore of Babylon, Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth.

P.S. Protestantism is in what appears to be terminal decline, partly due to the erosion of the truths that the papacy is the anti-Christ and that Roman Catholicism is the Whore of Babylon (there are many other factors as well).

Look it up in the word of God. . . his retraining power the restrainer/ revealer.

A God that hides. .(parables) revealing himself revealing himself to the new creatures Christians? His living word (sola scriptura) is the restraining7revealing power .

Psalm 76:10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; the remainder of wrath shall You restrain and gird and arm Yourself with it.

A God that hides the things darkness restraining His light .He is "Let there be God light .and Christ who is light enter the picture of revealing that which was concealed and not that he can only create Light temporally .

Isaiah 45:14-16King James VersionThus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God. Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.

The restraining power is according to the old testament law signified by Moses. And the prophets, signified by Elijah new testament . The testimony of the Old Testament all togethter as one testament . Sola scriptura .

The two witnesses spoken of in Revaltion that are killed, and lay in the streets a famine a restraint for hearing the gospel .

Lucifer the god of this world claims to be the revealer/restrainer . The king of lying signs to wonder after. Rather than beleive (sola scriptura) the restrainer

But how can the Truth that is contained in scripture ever be removed. Perhaps I misunderstand what you drive at.

The restrainer/ revealer or just and justifier as one . sola sculpture It defends as the Armor of God restrains, (to stop, prevent, curb) the arrows of the evil one from hitting the mark .

Ephesians 6:10-18Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles (restrains) of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ...

Setting us free of the captivity restrainer of this world to serve his word the restrainer of evil .

Two kinds of restrainers?

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;. . . .(restraint)

Please explain what you mean in the context of this verse.
“And you know what restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is removed.”

(2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 NAS20)

Verse 7 a summary. of a mystery of one that restrains the understanding .You could say a parable.

2 Thessalonians 2James Version Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that (mystery) man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: (lying signs to wonder after .)only he who now letteth (the mysteries)will let,(them remain mysteries ) until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked (lies)be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the (God's) truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

The restrainer is the Holy Spirit....with a twist. That is the work of the Hoy Spirit through the church. In other words it is the Holy Spirit filled followers of Jesus who are doing the restraining through the strength of the Holy Spirit.

To which, and about which, generation was that spoken?

A) 1st Century Christians

B) 21st Century Christians

Yikes!

Does the NAS20 really capitalise "He" in "He who restrains will do so until He is removed."??? Were the translators Dispensationalists? If so, I would not touch that translation with a ten-foot pole.

I never noticed. No translation is perfect. I consult most all of them and the original texts constantly.

What is that delusion and what is the lie?

The lie is of the many lying and signs to wonder after as if it was prophecy God's living word. The delusion keeps wondering ,wondering, wondering and not believing sola scriptura .

How do you know that to be so? If you want to speculate that's fine...but why do you present it as biblical fact?

It's true that no translation is perfect (I consult many as well, and the originals); however, one that is willing to insert such a controversial (erroneous, in fact) interpretation into the text, is bound to do similar damage in other places as well. It's a question of the attitude of the translators.

This is clearly untrue.

Luke 21:28 (KJV) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

This was addressed to a 1st C. audience. It was also about them, since it cannot be that they were to lift up their heads when these things began to come to pass, if their redemption would not be for another 2,000 years! It was referring to what happened in A.D. 70, when they were delivered from oppression by the unbelieving Jews, because Jerusalem was sacked by the Roman army. The Jewish believers of that time believed the prophecy and fled to the mountains, escaping the slaughter (Luke 21:20,21).

Was John 3:16 only for Nicodemus?
That is a different passage, with a different context, about a different subject, with a different audience and written by a different author.

I would recommend learning how to understand the Bible, in context.

I find no fault in your assertion, David. The translating team is bound to carry some suppositions.
My baseline is two-fold.
1. I trust the Holy Spirit to teach
2. That God has preserved the scriptures as He wills

This is clearly untrue.

What would make you think it is is not ?
