Young Earth/Old Earth

The great “I AM THAT I AM” has always existed, even before the sun, moon, and stars were created on the fourth “day.” So where did light come from before God spoke it into being?

1 John 1:5: This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

I say God Himself was its light.

So “in the beginning” of time recorded for us in the Bible, there was a problem on the earth. Genesis 1:2 tells us, “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Why would there be any darkness at all over something God created? Are not all His creations pronounced “good?” Why would God be hovering over what He had created, as if protecting it? Something must have happened…. What is recorded for us in the Word is His solution—His mercy and grace, our only hope.

I say God Himself was its light.

God called the light Day and the darkness night. How then can the light be God himself?

Adam (and also Eve) were created as adults, not babies. Why can't the earth be created to look older, too? Plus, I take the seven days (six in which He created all we see and don't see) as literal days, not an indeterminate period of time.

That wouldn't seem right. God is a God of order. Why would He create something young but make it look old? But does it look old? Does it look young? Just what is an old or young earth supposed to look like? God could have just as easily created the entire universe within a few hour periods.

There are just some things that make sense to me only if the earth is old.

That wouldn't seem right. God is a God of order. Why would He create something young but make it look old? But does it look old? Does it look young? Just what is an old or young earth supposed to look like? God could have just as easily created the entire universe within a few hour periods.

There are just some things that make sense to me only if the earth is old.

Well, the fall caused Him to curse the land, too. Who knows what it looked like pre-fall.

I disagree. I find it hard to believe that Adam or Eve didn't step on an insect and obviously they ate plants. And if you were to see the microscopic life on a plant, wow.

Not that I am aware of. I know YE believers have an issue with that.

I've discussed this with some people YEers, they insist there was no death befoe the fall. But when I hit them with I believe there were, insects, plants ect.. they don't know what to say. other than, I don't know what I'm talking about. I have grown to love that saying.

I believe God wants us to ask questions. I'm not doubting creation.

Adam was created as an adult, so was Eve. One day old they were adults, not infants.

The strata layers show age.

The solar system according to science shows age...........
