What and when is the thousand years? Part 4

Well, let's continue. I will do the best I can to help you see how I understand it. But, please, go on, let's discuss this together.
You'll need to show what each is a symbol for with a biblical reference.

As for me I read that verse and see no symbology required.

Think about it....if all you mentioned isn't literal...Chains, pit, keys....then neither is Satan.
Brother, this work binding of Satan began when Jesus triumphed over him in the temptation in the wilderness. remember:
4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Matthew 4.

Then, of course, Jesus began to cast out demons. Satan's power over the deluded masses was beginning to be curtailed.

If you're going to say it's all symbolic....you better have a decoder ring with biblical support that explains the symbolism. If not I could assign just about anyting to they symbolism.

The angelic realm isn't confined to the 3D world we perceive. Then again you already knew that.

Think about it how can a pit be bottomless?

A pit has to have a bottom to be a pit so obviously it is symbolic.

Start with reading post #43.

Good point. :)

I know you didn't. But most dispensationalists and pre-mills I know, seem to pick and choose what is literal and what is not, in accordance with their beliefs. Not saying you do this, I hope this isn't your practice.
I see it like this...if it's possible, it's probably not symbolism.
If it's impossible then it has to be symbolism. For example the stars falling to earth has to be symbolism....as the stars must represent something.
Perhaps they're angels.
Perhaps they're satellites.
Perhaps they're meteorites
Perhaps they're.....

Considering Satan has a physical body...then the chain can also be physical.

@CrowCross

What do you make of Jesus' words here: Mark 3.

23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first
bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

Okay, thanks for that explaination.

I don't think it has anything to do with the bottomless pit.

How about: John 12:
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

I don't think it has anything to do with the bottomless pit.
Nothing to do with the binding of Satan? No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

By Satan being bound, you can say his leash has been shortened. He is God's devil and can do nothing more than God allows.

Of course, when the thousand years are finished, Satan is released from his prison. Then it becomes very clear that the final and most terrible persecution, by means of which antichrist forces are going to oppress the church. I believe it is clear we are presently in the tribulation period, we have been since Jesus came. When satan is released, then it will get much worse.

For those who do not believe we are in the tribulation period, go to China and tell that to the Chinese Christians. Tell them we are not, as they are murdered for being a Christian, there are martyrs probably daily, whole families are murdered for their faith.

Tell that to the Apostles.

And the millions and millions of Christians who have been martyred for their faith since Christ.

I so agree with this!

Curious. do you believe satan is literally a dragon?

Also, does Satan have a physical body, or, can he just take on a physical body? Remember, he was created as an angel.

Brother, many people approach the word of God like they do a salad bar~they pick and choose what they like, and leave off what they do not like by never even consider to taste to see if it is good~Just as the poster said with reply #39.

I am reading all that has been posted so far, so I know exactly how to begin my post. I thinking to just do a verse by verse of Revelation 20.

Yes, I believe Satan has a physical body. Why would I not believe that?
