There are two sets of 1000 years one the reigning and one the binding.

No, there are not two separate thousand year periods in Revelation 20. Check the Greek. Revelation 20:2 first speaks of "...and bound him A thousand years" as "Chilia ete". Then in every subsequent mention of the term "thousand years" in Revelation 20, it refers BACK to the original use of the term in Revelation 20:2 by using the definite article "THE thousand years" (Ta chilia ete).

This is called "the rule of first mention" in grammar, and it makes every mention of the thousand years in Revelation 20 to be related to the same time period - not two separate time periods.

No, that is not what that "chain" kept in check for a thousand years. These Rev. 20:1-3 verses say that this chain and the seal put upon Satan were to keep Satan from deceiving the nations during that time. They say absolutely nothing about physically restraining Satan from moving from one location to another. Actually, they don't even say that Satan would quit his attempts to deceive during that time - only that he would have no success at deceiving the nations for that time period. And this text doesn't say that mankind had no ability to deceive themselves during that time, either. The conditions of the millennium have been exaggerated far beyond the limits of the scripture's description of this time period.

Even though Satan is chained up at this time..despite that...people will continue to display their sin nature.

Sir, very briefly, since I do not want to leave the context of Revelation 20, and get sidetrack, which is very easy to do.

Well did he see, or did he not see, you cannot have it both ways?

He certainly did not see a theophany~The word theophany is a combination of two Greek words, meaning God and appearance.

John said the saw an angel, and this angel was not Jesus Christ as many suppose~I believe it was Michael the archangel, who does have the power and strength to stop Satan. No where in the scriptures does it say he does not~he is that great prince that stands for the people of God.

Michael is not Jesus Christ as the Jehovah "false" Witnesses' believe and others with them. Another study for another day, not now.


Revelation chapter 20 is no parable ~but, truths that will happen just as John said it would, which truths are hidden in this vision, by using highly symbolically language, that can be understood, by using plain verses in the NT, as we shall soon see, the Lord willing.

Who other than Jesus the Son of man could represent . Who is like eternal God? . Michael the main apostle Jesus.

I think its silly to believe in things not seen other than Christ. How could a person entertain a angel not seen.

It should read Be not forgetful to entertain visible strangers: for thereby some have entertained apostles, messenger of Christ unawares. They might have a verse for you or you for them . Christian fellowship
