What and when is the thousand years? Part 4

The 1000 years is a period of time, not a literal 1000 years.
Six times in Revelation 20:2-7, the millennial kingdom is specifically said to be 1,000 years in length. If God wished to communicate “a long period of time,” He could have easily done so without explicitly and repeatedly mentioning an exact time frame....ref

To add. I suspect the reason I visited the old place was to find a lie had circulated and I took an opportunity to address it.
I suspect some were laboring under a falsehood and that is not good for anyone.
Now the object individual will have a chance to come clean. That is my hope and prayer.
The problems in both method and content are undeniable, along with the double-standards and abuse of forum members. If it has changed then praise God.

If its a 1000 literal time frame then how come they end at different times?

Satan’s binding for 1000 years starts in Revelation chapter 20:2
2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

Satan’s 1000-year binding ends in verse 7.
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison.

The 1000-year reign starts in verse 4
4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The 1000-year reign ends in verse 12.
. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

We know that the reign ends here in verse 12 because verse 5 tells us.
5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

These are not the same timelines they don’t match up. Satan is released from his binding just before he deceives the nations again and makes his last attempt to wipe out the church before being cast into hell. The reign ends on the judgment day when the rest of the dead comes back to life (see verse 5 above) which is after satan is finally dealt with by God. We clearly see here that the reigning isn’t because of the binding of satan because they are not the same timelines.

Jesus doesn't reign because satan is bound Jesus reigns because He is God

There are two sets of 1000 years one the reigning and one the binding.

It's the same 1,000 years. One of the discriptions is about Satan and what he goes through and the other description is about those who had been beheaded.

Then why do they end at different times?

Do you not realize Revelation is a book full of symbolism? Revelation teaches Satan is bound for 1,000 years. I'll try to explain a little of my understanding of this.
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Rev 20.

You believe this is a literal 1000 years that Satan is bound, you take the 1000 years literally. Do you take the key as a literal key? Or does the key symbolize something?
Or how about the great chain? Is this a literal chain also? Personally, I believe all this is symbolism.

That is, the 1,000 years is not literally 1000 years. The chain is not a literal chain, and the key is not a literal key.

How do you chain up an angel (spirit), Satan? Oh wait, he is called the dragon in verse 2. Is he literally a dragon, this Satan? Is "the dragon" literal, or symbolism? Which is he? Satan, the devil, the dragon?

@CrowCross

So, the angel overpowers satan, renders him helpless, and binds him securely. The devil remains bound for 1000 years. This angel hurls him into the abyss and "locks it." The angel places a seal over it. And after this 1000 years is over, he must be loosed for a short time.

What is the meaning of this symbol? What does this all symbolize?

As Hendriksen says, we need to forget for a moment the fact that we are living in this century and transplant ourselves to the world of John the Apostle. What a picture of spiritual darkness and desolation. Try to count the many idols that disgrace the streets and sanctuaries of imperial Rome. The abominations, the filth, and corruption attendant upon the celebration of pagan festivals, the superstitions, vices, and so on, are truly staggering. Temples and shrines throughout the world are crowded with ignorant, half-despairing worshippers. We see a few scattered churches established through the efforts of Paul and others. For the rest, heathendom is everywhere triumphant.

Now, let us move back to that long period which preceeded Chriat's ascension. All the nations - with the exception of the Jews - are under the thraldom of Satan.
Not, of course in the absolute sense of the term, for God always reigns supreme, but in the sense of Acts 14:16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
If during this present era the devil 'blinds the minds of unbelievers' (2 Cor 4:4)., that was even more emphatically true during the old dispensation.

With a sigh of horror, we exclaim, "Is this condition never going to change? will the OT era continue forever? Will the devil maintain his rule over the peoples of the earth? Will the light of the glorious gospel never penetrate into the palaces and hovels of Asia and Europe? Will this intense moral and spiritual darkness always continue? Has an angry God forgotten mercy?

There is much to consider here @CrowCross I hope you will consider it.

Think about it....if all you mentioned isn't literal...Chains, pit, keys....then neither is Satan.

If all of scripture was literal you wouldn't know of it, because you would have to gouge your eyes out and eventually be blind. Amongst other things.

Do you not see the symbolism in any of this brother?

If you're going to say it's all symbolic....you better have a decoder ring with biblical support that explains the symbolism. If not I could assign just about anyting to they symbolism.

The angelic realm isn't confined to the 3D world we perceive. Then again you already knew that.

I NEVER said all of scripture is literal.

Well, let's continue. I will do the best I can to help you see how I understand it. But, please, go on, let's discuss this together.

I NEVER said all of scripture is literal.
I know you didn't. But most dispensationalists and pre-mills I know, seem to pick and choose what is literal and what is not, in accordance with their beliefs. Not saying you do this, I hope this isn't your practice.
