Trinity: The Divinity of Jesus

The Holy Spirit is sometimes called "the spirit of Christ" in the bible, so I don't think saying that it was the power of the Holy Spirit takes away from the power or deity of Christ.
I believe that in taking on the flesh of mankind, Jesus limited Himself to the physical abilities of mankind. That does not take away from His divinity. For example, dying physically did not take away from His divinity either.

I would refer you to Albert Barnes assessment of the meaning of "spirit of Christ" in Romans 8:9 and elsewhere. I think that is an interesting take on it.

Jesus Christ certainly had power. All things were created through Him. He certainly was not created. And if His power only began at His resurrection, how was He able to perform so many miracles, including healing, turning water into wine, and even raising the dead? Jesus certainly was not born again. We need to be born again because of sin, but He had no sin:

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” (Heb 4:15 NKJV)

I don't think anybody worships His dying flesh, as you say. They are grateful for His death, for it is He Who bore our sins in His own body on the tree, as Peter puts it. It is not wrong to worship Jesus Christ. The wise men worshipped Him when He was just a toddler:

“And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (Mt 2:11 NKJV)

It just is not biblical to say that Jesus Christ is not God, or that He was merely a Jewish man.
Hi Thanks

They worshipped Christ the Holy Spirt our husband. The eternal Spirit, the one that prophesied of the birth. Not the birth. Power came from the Father Christ at the resurrection

Christ in us. Not the flesh of Son of man Jesus in us. The word has nothing to do with flesh (things seen)

You are misinterpreting the word "Christ" which speaks on the anointing or teaching work of the invisible Father .And accrediting the work of the father to the dying flesh of Jesus the Son of man who demonstrated the power of the Father

The Father warns of the legion of antichrists "another teaching authority" other than that which is written (sola scriptura) called the oral traditions of dying mankind. False prophets bringing, false prophecy oral traditions of dying mankind

1 John2:26-26These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

An example. The deceiving work of the father of lies spirit the one spirit of the antichrist (another teaching authority) working in a legion antichrists (false apostles, false prophets,

Satan using Peter as a serial denier (three times). . an example of what not to do add or subtract from to the living word.

Satan goal to deceive all the nations of the world that God is a Jewish man as King of kings.

Peter rebuked the Lord not seen and forbid the Son of man Jesus seen from demonstrating the power of our invisible God.

Peter was forgiven of his blasphemy against the Son of Man Jesus (dying flesh) No forgiveness against the unseen Holy Father

Mathew 16:22-Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

I think most theologians hold that Jesus worked signs, wonders and miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit who descended upon Him at His baptism.

I would be careful with the use of signs, wonders and miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit And not the lying power of Satan the king of lying signs to wonder, wonder, marvel after as if true prophecy.

Signs as metaphor used in parables follow prophecy.

Mark 16:16-20He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;(gospel) They shall take up serpents; (false prophets) and if they drink any deadly thing,(false prophecy) it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands (preach the gospel) on the sick, and they shall recover; So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.;And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

The key follow.

Those who sought after making Jesus into a circus seal

John 4:48Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

John 6:30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

Believers have prophecy till the end of time.

No need to wonder, suffer wonder, wonder. Limbo /purgatory ??????

That's NOT what it states. It states he did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, thereby implying he could have considered it but did not. By extension, if he could have considered it then it must have been a reasonable and rational consideration because if it was irrational and unreasonable that would instantly disqualify him as the prefect sacrifice.

Btw, how did you two get so far afield of the op?
The Father is greater than i) = there is no equality to be grasped.

The Father is greater than i) = there is no equality to be grasped.
Then Philippians 2:6 has been made meaningless, and thereby false.

And the facts remain:

  1. The tangent is way off topic. How'd y'all get so far afield of the op?
  2. Philippians 2:6 does not state what Post #250 says it says.
  3. The salient points of Post #251 have been ignored.

Philippians 2:5-6
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although he existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a bondservant, and being made in the likeness of men.

.....because, existing in the form of God..... he emptied himself, was made in human likeness and took on the form of a bondservant.

You try that. Go ahead; try it now. I'll wait. Lemme know when you're done.

Jesus said otherwise:

"baptizing them in the name (singular) of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Mt 28:19).
Yes all things are done for the Fathers will by all representing him. They do it all in Jesus' Fathers name.
Like the ones who love God, Like King David--When he went up against Goliath he stated-You come with sword, shield and Javelin, i come in the name of YHVH(Jehovah)

Greater position not greater person.
You are in error. YHVH(Jehovah = the Father is the only true God, Jesus is his son. One must know them both to get eternal life( John 17:3) = This means eternal life, their knowing you( Father) The ONLY TRUE GOD and know the one whom you sent forth Christ Jesus. Billions on earth do not know the Father as the only true God because they wont believe Jesus.
Jesus even warned the world= John 15:20-21) On account of his name( thinking they are standing for it) they will do things against the true followers. Why? Because they did not know the one who sent him= Father= THE ONLY TRUE GOD-- Ones who also thought they were Gods chosen( when Jesus was on Earth) rejected him, hated him, and sent him to his death, and had others killed as well. Jesus rejected them( Matt 23:38)-- how could they be so mislead? Satan is the ruler of this world-99% fall for his things.

If you check-REALITY- you find your translations are corrupt-They teach 2 different Gods or try to. Jesus is 100% clear at John 17:3== The one who sent him= Father is THE ONLY TRUE GOD. Any other teaching is a direct contradiction of Jesus truth.

What does the op state is the topic and purpose of this thread?

Yes, one true God whose Holy Spirit worked in and with his son of man Jesus.

We know them both by the power of the one unseen Father Christ. .. . . . the husband of the Christian bride.

You continue to write about "Jesus" and "Christ" as if they were two distinct persons. You say Jesus is a man, and Christ is the unseen Father. Yet the bible refers to Him as "Jesus Christ" 177 times, and "Christ Jesus" 69 times. Then there are the four times where He is called, "Jesus Who is called Christ." That is a total of 250 times. Surely that is sufficient to show that He is one glorious Person, fully God and fully man.

Yes, whenever the one good teaching master the Father worked in the Son of man Jesus. It is recognized not coming from dying mankind Jesus the Son of man

Two different words Jesus (savoir) and Christ (anointing Holy Spirit)

Mark 10:16-18 ;And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.;And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Christ in with the Son of man. Nor Christ is the Son of man

2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

Not a salvation issue

So are you still saying that Jesus was only a Man? That doesn't answer my point about the 250 times where He is called both "Jesus" and "Christ" in the bible.
Two different words Jesus (savoir) and Christ (anointing Holy Spirit)
Well of course they are two different words. "Jesus" was His name, and "Christ is His title. Jesus means "Jehovah saves," and "Christ" means the same as "Messiah", meaning "anointed" (not "anointing Holy Spirit.")
Jesus knew that this man didn't really believe that He, Jesus Christ is God. That is why He asked the man the question. Elsewhere, Jesus said:

“"I and [My] Father are one."” (Joh 10:30 NKJV)

He also accepted worship from Thomas, who called Him, "My Lord and my God."
Christ in with the Son of man. Nor Christ is the Son of man
But 250 times He is called "Jesus Christ," or "Christ Jesus." Not "Christ with Jesus." You will look in vain for a bible verse saying that Christ was with Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

Not a salvation issue
That verse seems to go against what you wrote before, about " the one unseen Father Christ." If as you say, Christ is the unseen Father, how could 2 Corinthians 5:16 be true when it says, "though we have known Christ after the flesh."?

So are you still saying that Jesus was only a Man? That doesn't answer my point about the 250 times where He is called both "Jesus" and "Christ" in the bible.

Hi Dave

Not a salvation issue . Can't destroy the gospel simplicity. God pouring out his holy Spirit life on dying flesh.

In that way he is not served by the dying hands as a will of man. Having no needs satisfies all his own giving gifts to his bride.

Not only a Man. The Son of man the one man used to represent the unseen power of the father that worked in the Son of man. . . who became born again as a son of God . Like your own self they are led by Christ with us Emanuel

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Jesus the faithful first born of many Christians as sons of God

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his
