As you did not use the reply button who said all are elect? How can there be the practice of excommunication if we are all elect in your understanding
Is Catholicism also universalism? Then it contradicts itself mightily. What is meant by "all" people, "the world", "the whole world" in those passages? You must find a correct usage of the terms from within their context and in a way that will not contradict one single other thing in Scripture. Can you do that? Will you do that?He is the redeemer of all men
Whole world
All people
Lk 2:10-11
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Jn 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 John 2:2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Not everyone is elect. Excommunication is a doctrine of the Catholic church that says it has the power of God to condemn a person to hell by excommunicating them----from what? The Catholic church. The Catholic church does not determine who the elect OF God are. Only God does that. It is itself a doctrine from the pit of hell. How can there be the practice of excommunication if we are all elect in your understanding
I never saw anyone ever state that all are electHow can there be the practice of excommunication if we are all elect in your understanding
then why aren't all redeemed? He is the redeemer of all men
Right! Either you were redeemed or you weren't.then why aren't all redeemed?
Let me guess...Jesus is a merely a potential redeemer
Calvinism would say Jesus is a potential redeemer since He only provided redemption for some of mankind but not all.then why aren't all redeemed?
Let me guess...Jesus is a merely a potential redeemer
Actually, that makes no sense.Calvinism would say Jesus is a potential redeemer since He only provided redemption for some of mankind but not all.
nope:Calvinism would say Jesus is a potential redeemer since He only provided redemption for some of mankind but not all.
All men are redeemedthen why aren't all redeemed?

Did not say allI never saw anyone ever state that all are elect
Did not say all
please be crystal clear: is there anyone who is not redeemed ?All men are redeemed
In the largest sense
And thats makes the next step justification
Lk 2:10-11Calvinism would say Jesus is a potential redeemer since He only provided redemption for some of mankind but not all.
But what He did to achieve redemption of mankind was not sufficient to be applicable to all according to Calvinism.nope:
Jesus actually, and effectively redeemed.
Propitiation means to appease God's wrath : (agreed?)Lk 2:10-11

It is sufficient to pay for every person that ever lived, But it was effective for every person that has the God-given gift of faith. But what He did to achieve redemption of mankind was not sufficient to be applicable to all according to Calvinism.
Is there anyone that is not redeemed? But what He did to achieve redemption of mankind was not sufficient to be applicable to all according to Calvinism.
Absolutely. Tell that to every person instead of telling that it is impossible to be sufficient for some.It is sufficient to pay for every person that ever lived,
