We are not born again / saved by the atonement. It’s His Resurrection from the dead that is life giving , that conquered sin, death and the devil. I have provided numerous scriptures proving this to be true which you ignore.

We must go back to the gospel and what the scriptures teach about the good news of Jesus death, burial and resurrection as defined in 1 Corinthians 15.

1 Corinthians 15:17- And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

The passage declares if Christ is not risen, raised from the dead, resurrected then our faith is in vain and we are still dead in our sins. We are saved by His life/Resurrection not His death. His death atoned for sin but does not give life.

Romans 4:24-25

but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Paul declares in Romans 5:10 the following: For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Cf Acts 17:31.

John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

We know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17. We know that God saves those who believe – 1 Corinthians 1:21. We know that we receive the spirit and are sealed with the spirit through belief in the gospel- Ephesians 1:13.

In Philippians 3:10 we see its the power displayed in the resurrection and the power that comes from it. To know the POWER of His Resurrection ! The resurrection of Jesus Christ was a powerful demonstration of the power of God. Not only was Jesus raised up but we were raised up with Him (Ephesians 4:8; 2:6). There is life-giving power of His resurrection. (Romans 1:16 ) The resurrection power of God is His dunamis or explosive power. Resurrection life brings the life of God at our conversion when we are born again. (John 11:25 – 26; 1 John 5:12). The Holy Spirit indwells us when we are born again. We are changed, born of the Spirit, and we have the same life in us as He has, the Zoe life of God (2 Corinthians 5:17; John 3:3-8.)

Romans 6:4-6
Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

Romans 8:10-11
And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

The crowning Jewel of the Gospel- His Resurrection from the dead !

Romans 1:4- and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

hope this helps !!!

But without it we have no forgiveness of sin. The atonement is part and parcel of salvation. It's like we are not saved by His sinless life, OR His death, OR His burial, OR His resurrection. It is all of it that saves us.

Agreed but a certain poster is leaving out the Resurrection from salvation( and the gospel) and placing it all on the atonement.

Lemme guess, BF52?

Yes, we are not saved (solely) by His death, but we are not saved without it, either.

If I recall, the OP isn't dealing with salvation, but with our life to come. That is found in His resurrection, as He is the first fruits from the dead. Our salvation is in what He accomplished on the cross, but our assurance of eternal life lies in His resurrection. If He couldn't save Himself, if He couldn't come back from the dead, what hope do we have for eternal life? After all, it was Christ who promised us eternal life.

both present and future.

The funny thing was that I was suppose to pitch that day I was the starter and I couldn't and had to go to Kaiser emergency . Plus i was allergic to wool and I was wearing a wool school jacket that made things worse. At the time I didn't realize I was allergic to wool. I was itching like crazy but couldn't scratch the hives. I was a basket case 🤣

FAQ: Was it really necessary to restore Christ's crucified dead body to life? Why
couldn't he just leave it be and go on up to heaven without it?

REPLY: Although Jesus' crucifixion is adequate for obtaining forgiveness for people's
sins, it alone cannot obtain exoneration: defined by Webster's as: to clear from
accusation or blame. In other words; forgiveness alone leaves behind a record of
one's offenses. That's where Jesus' resurrection comes into play.

Rom 4:25 . . He was delivered over to death for our sins, and was raised to life
for our justification.

The Greek word translated "justification" basically means acquittal; defined as an
adjudication of innocence due to a lack of sufficient evidence to convict.

People merely forgiven and/or pardoned still carry a load of guilt; viz: they have
a record, i.e. a criminal history. Christ's resurrection deletes that history so that
on the books, it's as though believers have never been anything but 100% innocent.

FAQ: What about a believer's new sins; the ones they commit after coming to faith in
Christ?

REPLY: From the moment of their conversion, God stops keeping track of all that.

2Cor 5:19 . . God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing
their trespasses unto them.

The Greek word in that passage for "imputing" basically means to keep an
inventory.

NOTE: Jehovah's Witnesses insist Jesus' crucified dead body is still dead and its
remains are squirreled away in a condition and a location known only to God. What
should that tell us about their chances of walking away alive at the great white
throne event depicted by Rev 20:11-15

1Cor 15:17 . . Further, if Christ has not been raised up, your faith is useless; you are
yet in your sins.
