Issues with a doctrine(s) of grace?

“Snicker.” is a chocolate bar , here in the UK..😂🤣😅
Here too.... technically it called Snickers
I sure hope there's chocolates bars and ice cream in heaven .... probably not in hell as they would melt.

Is this an issue with the DOG or more of a philosophical question
Follow the previous line of questioning (if you can).

like what happens if you square infinity?
That's not philosophical, that's impossible, as the finite cannot exceed the infinite, nor can God exceed Himself.

maybe we'll learn how to answer this in heaven ?
*snicker*

@Odë:hgöd is doing reports on how many people entered hell every 3ish days ... he could figure it out
I can answer the Philosophical question [I read Max Black's work on "Infinity Machines" and Alfred Whitehead's "Process and Reality" as well as "GEB: An Eternal Golden Braid" by Douglas Hofstadter ... all mathematical philosophy books :geek:]. I just lost track of what this might have to do with the Doctrines of Grace.

You're a smarty.

....does seem to be tangential...

I draw an imaginary line from one side of "heaven" to the opposite side of "heaven". How long is my imaginary line?

I stretch the imaginary line out into a flat sheet perpendicular to the line so that it covers "heaven" in the other direction. How wide is my imaginary sheet?

I multiply the LENGTH of "heaven" by the WIDTH of heaven to get the area of heaven. What is infinite x infinite? [Infinite squared.]

(If I want to know how TALL heaven is, and then calculate the VOLUME ... we get infinite cubed.)

Hmmm ... I heard it's not possible to have an infinite material world.
Considering the books you've read .... I'll take your word on the subject as something I will not question so as to not highlight my ignorance.

Aside: Watch out for @Arial ... she a smarty.

Re: I sure hope there's chocolates bars and ice cream in heaven .... probably not in hell as they would melt.
You're quite the theologian! :)
Thank you .... I was thinking of doing a dissertation of that lack of ice cream in hell ... I'll have to check to see if it's already been done.
Aside: I like ice cream with nuts... walnut, butter pecan ... yummy

Good question. . .keep them up and you will get back to God's purpose in all creation.

God designed
1) that all would be locked up in sin, no exceptions,
2) that there would be only one way out, his mercy,
3) that such mercy would come at the price of the brutal bloody sacrifice of his Son,
4) that his mercy would be available only to those who believed in and trusted on that Son and his sacrifice for his mercy.
Thx, but I'm already in His purpose.
As are we all.

Is there a larger purpose?
Larger than eternal? I doubt it
Can his purpose not be larger without being longer than eternal?
Whether larger or longer, it can't exceed what's eternal. That's math 101
Follow the previous line of questioning (if you can).
OK, I gave "following the previous line of reasoning" my best shot. I hope I went back far enough.

Hypothetical situation (What If):
God created Adam and Eve and they did not eat the fruit but responded like Jesus: "Get thee behind me, Satan" (because Adam spoke KJV English - everyone knows that). So, mankind lives happily ever after strolling naked in a garden with no biting insects and chatting with God.
  • God is clearly no LESS God: just as Holy, Just, Merciful, Loving, etc.
NON-Hypothetical situation (What really happened):
Adam ate, man fell. God provided the LAW to teach, man revolted. God came incarnate and man rejected Him. God suffered, died and rose again to redeem (purchase from sin) a people for Himself. Jesus returns and restores - better than before - a new "Heaven and Earth in one" [God LIVING with man, not visiting].
  • God CANNOT be "more God" ... God is unchanged. Is the Glory REVEALED about Him unchanged? Is the glory IN US (the eleavtion from obedient and faithful creations to BELOVED CHILDREN unchanged?
  • Which plan brought more Glory to God and good to man?
God was, is and forever will be ETERNAL ... but His Plan CAN be greater than his mere eternal existence by revealing more about Him and allowing Him to give more of himself. [Powers of Infinity - just expand in new directions].

Like you said, it’s imaginary.

ditto

There is no length or width when it comes to the infinite.

I heard that God is not limited by time ... that He exists in every moment of time. Thus, the revealing of His glory accumulates from our point of view, but not His.

My one cent worth from Jr. High Grad and potential Jr. theologian someday

Time to go swimming ... my Yorkie-poo loves to swim.

Like you said, it’s imaginary.

ditto

How long is HEAVEN? [infinite]
How wide is HEAVEN? [infinite]
What is the AREA of HEAVEN? [infinite x infinite = infinite squared]

Heanen is not IMAGINARY and you don't need to get tripped up on drawing an imaginary line.

God purposed in His heart that which comes to pass ... God chose what He wanted revealed: That revelation can be lesser or greater as God purposed it to be.

Heaven is not imaginary but your 'imaginary' line is.

That is why I removed it.

Besides, you're still using finite concepts to measure the infinite...no can do.
