Issues with a doctrine(s) of grace?

"The infinite is not the total; ‘the all’ is a pseudo-infinite, and to assert that it is greater than the simple infinite is the same error that is committed in mathematics when it is asserted that an infinite number plus a vast finite number is greater than the simple infinite.” Fullerton, Conception of the Infinite, —“ The Infinite, though it involves unlimited possibility of quantity, is not itself a quantitative but rather a qualitative conception.”

"God is not infinite by virtue of existing or of filling a space outside of space,— he is rather infinite by being the pure and perfect Mind that passes beyond all phenomena and constitutes the ground of them. The former conception of infinity is simply supra-cosmic, the latter alone is properly transcendent".

That’s right as it is misguided to say (as high school teachers do) ‘the finite approaches the infinite’.
We see this in Scripture through the incarnation where the infinite had to approach the finite.
God is not infinite by virtue of existing or of filling a space outside of space,— he is rather infinite by being the pure and perfect Mind that passes beyond all phenomena and constitutes the ground of them. Agreed again.

God was, is and forever will be ETERNAL ... but His Plan CAN be greater than his mere eternal existence by revealing more about Him and allowing Him to give more of himself. [Powers of Infinity - just expand in new directions].
Hi atpollard,

I appreciate what you have written. And may I write what I see as the `greater plan` than just eternal life, (though amazing as that is).

If all God desired was to give man eternal life, then after the fall the Father could have sent Jesus, He would have been killed, then when He arose then those who followed Him would then go onto the new earth and live forever.

However, as Job says `the heavens are not pure in His sight. ` (Job 15: 15) Thus, God has more to restore than just man on earth. God`s great plan is for His Son to rule from the highest and over all of God`s great kingdom. That will be righteous rulership from the highest, and throughout each realm of heaven.

With the Lord in His righteous rulership He has been enabling various ones to rule with Him in the different realms. And that indeed is the great eternal purpose in Christ. (Eph. 1: 9 & 10)
