Is evil something God formed and brought into existance?
All spirits whether angels or mankind would be Gods offspring, Evil came from their hearts via disobedience. Just as death entered the world through Adam and Eve's sin.
Let's see: There's Primary cause, Immediate cause, and, uh, Proximate cause, and, uh, uhm, you'll have to ask @Josheb
So, as Heiser believes, you find it reasonable, that God is TRYING and FAILING, and having to try again. Do you take this as all a grand experiment? See— this is where notions of Free Will go.
??? What he taught was that the 70 nations that were divided by Bab-El were reached by the apostles. Sounds like success to me! Paul said twice that the world had been reached, which is partly what confirmed that the end of the world was expected right after the Destruction of Jerusalem.
Perhaps you have confused me with someone else, or are spending too much time in the behind-the-scenes thoughtworld of theology?
EarlyActs said: Biblical scholar M Heiser speak/writes on the origin of evil and gives three reasons. The reason for three is not to deny Genesis 3 but because three events factor into the evil that exists on earth.
1, the entry of sin
2, the invasion of rebellious angels in Gen 6
3, the separating judgement of Gen 11

Because of the 2nd form, Heiser points out that redemption is always attempted. Adam and Eve are blessed with a pregnancy, a 'man (from) the Lord' to attempt to restore what was there. Unfortunately... Likewise after the cataclysm, there are the three sons of Noah from whom all the nations came. In hope of restoration again, but... (My emphasis —makesends)
When the mindset of the student is based on self-determination (vs God determining all things) "freewill" uncaused and God's repeated inability to complete what he set out to do (due to evil's activities) are implied. God becomes like us, subject to the vagaries of mere unfortunate chance.
I bring this up, because the student who assumes such things is going to color EVERY thing he reads in scripture with this crayon. Heiser thinks this way, as do you, according to your statement that you don't have any reason to cancel what Heiser says.
Romans 9:22 NKJV What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
Proverbs 16:4-5 NKJV
The LORD has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.
Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.
Whatever God created or has come to pass, we, Like Joseph's brothers, can and often do mean it for evil.
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
Genesis 50:20.
That's a pretty vague question. So, what do you mean exactly?
God did not form evil and bring it into existence. Evil sprang from the Hearts of His offspring. (Angels and mankind with the fallen Angels leading the whole world astray.)
