Colossians 1:17

None of the 3 person making up the Trinity died on the cross. God CAN NOT DIE!
The son of man (Christ's human nature) can be separated from the Trinity; he can be "foresaken" by the Trinity.
Christ at no time while He was on earth denied His deity so why are you applying this as if the Son of God had not died on the cross as the Son of Man? It is not like the Father & the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit watched the Son of Man died as if in that moment, the Son of God had a split personality.
The Father, Son and Spirit's will are one in the same thing. They NEVER disagree with one another. They are one God.
Explain Jesus's prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane then, praying for that cup to die on the cross to pass? He prayed to the Father upon making this request to let thy will be done and not His own.
Well, granted, man is subject to error. Could be you that is in error. There is wisdom in the council of many so odds are that the Catechism and creeds more likely to be correct.
When it is not aligning with the truths in scripture as it is written, you should disregard them. Both of the Nicene creeds credit the Father as Maker of the heaven and the earth and this forum's statement of faith credit all Three for that, but scriptures only credit the Word of God for that.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made..... 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Yet they go with the creeds or the Statement of Faith rather than what scripture actually says.
Guess we have to agreed to disagree amicably. (Aside: cool, I spelt amicably correctly without "spell check")
@ReverendRV has given me pause form saying that. Granted, we are not to go away angry but truth matters just as keeping the faith in Jesus Christ. All we should do when reaching an impasse is for the Lord to minister and cause the increase in receiving the truth of this issue

Well, I think we are talking past each other; understanding terms differently.

Again, we are talking past each other; understanding terms differently. I am refer to the hypostatic union and I don't think we have a similar foundation on that topic.

Well, we don't have a common idea of the Trinity so I think we are talking past each other.
I agree that we should disregard ideas that are not aligned with scripture. We disagree as to what ideas are misaligned.

I have an idea that @ReverendRV probably would take my side based on things I've seen him write... but maybe not. Even if he did all that might prove is that he and I are both wrong. Have a good day.

This two ships passing each other in the night thing is happening a lot these latter days. Prayer is needed.

It is simply sound doctrine to declare that Christ dwells in the believer only; the Spirit would be given to those who believe in Him according to John 7:37-39.

"Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27) is given only to those who are in Christ; to those who actually have the hope of glory.

That is not unbelievers. Unbelievers have as their ultimate fate the lake of fire; for their names are not written in the Book of Life and they will be cast into the lake of fire unless that changes and their names are written therein as the result of their receiving of Christ as both Saviour and Lord.
