What Is Grace?

Why does the Roman Catholic Church has to do a review before they make anyone in the catholic Church an official "saint" when all believers are saints, even the newly born again believers?

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Saints has been used for identification with the Jews and after that, the believers in Jesus Christ.

Word Search for saint at Bible Gateway

One has to wonder if the RCC started that practice so that believers that are Catholics will not wonder if they are saved without the works of Catholicism when God considers them saints already for having come to & believed in Jesus Christ.
There is more than one kind of saint!

Just as there’s more kind of father!

How can you believe the virgin birth (conceived of the Holy Spirit) and that Joseph is the father of Jesus?

Thanks

The only saint that matters is what God calls a saint for; a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as in born again as sons of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The way the RCC signifies who a saint is, is to signify who is not a saint and that is not scripture nor practiced in the N.T. churches.

I know that Paul refers to himself as a father as being the one that fathered the seedling churches as in the body of believers, in that area, but at no time was he having anyone address him as "Father" thus obeying Jesus's command here.

Matthew 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

I do not believe that Joseph is the father of Jesus, BUT I do believe Joseph was sexually intimate with Mary after the birth of Jesus.

Matthew 1;18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Verse 25 means Joseph had sex with his wife after Jesus was born. Scripture testifies to brothers & sisters after Jesus.

Mark 6:1And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Jesus acknowledged His own kin though Mary was conceived by Joseph after the birth of Jesus.

You are welcome.
