Matthew 1’s chronology of generations says there were 3 sets of 14 generations culminating in Christ:
Abraham to King David
King David to captivity
Captivity to Christ.

This would also be 6 sets of 7 generations.

But if God deals in 7s we would need to go from 0 AD (approx) out to 7 x 40 further—to 280 AD. This is another set of 7 generations, a 7th.

What does this bring us to?

I would think the word generations (with seeds) as beginnings. It is used two ways.

Many words are used in two ways .It would seem Satan would make it all one in the same. His style to take away the gospel understanding

One temporal. . . the evil generation the seed of natural unconverted mankind as in Adam .

Luke 11:29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; (Not prophecy the living word ) and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.(sign of rebellion)

The other the eternal the generation of Christ after the seed of Christ.

Luke 1;1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.(the spiritual eternal born again seed.

1 Corinthians 15:36-38 King James Version Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

????

There are no "sets" in Mattew 1.

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah, fourteen generations.

Failure.

In Matthew 1 God did not "deal" in sevens. He "dealt" in threes and fourteens. Stop adding to scripture to justify nonsense.

Sorry I don't see anything directly about the question. Looks like a separate interesting topic.

More indirectly .I would think the word generations (with seeds) as beginnings is used two ways. One temporal, the generation of Adam ( 3 sets of 14 dying generations) the other the eternal the generation of Christ. No sign as time periods was given to seek or wonder after.

No adding to prophecy. We have prophecy the perfect .Nothing missing. . sealed till the end of time with 7 seals.

3 sets of 14 generations (Adam the evil generation ) culminating in the generation of Christ the righteous generation :

Not for numbering days . . .looking for a sign to seek after .

2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
