You do not know how He spoke to Abraham. You are assuming. Before I tackle the rest of the sentence: are you a Pentecostal or some form of charismatic? I ask because that will give be a better understanding of what you mean by words you use. I used to speak that language so know it.

@Arial If he doesn’t..then maybe that is why you and I are having difficulty understanding each other..he speaks to you through the bible.

He speaks to me through the Spirit ,then relays it to my mind, then I check if it’s his word, in the bible...he has always spoken to me like this...the same when he birthed me, he spoke directly to my spirit..there was no bible for me, when I became Born Again.....only afterwards , did I buy a bible.also go to church.

THE BIBLE SPEAKS OF SIX WAYS THAT GOD SPEAKS TO US:​

1. GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH SCRIPTURE​

2. GOD SPEAKS THROUGH GIFTED TEACHERS WHOSE SOURCE IS THE BIBLE​

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully” (Romans 12:6-8).

3. GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH DIFFICULTIES​

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word. You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees” (Psalm 119:67-68).

4. GOD SPEAKS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT​

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26).

5. GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS CREATION​

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge” (Psalm 19:1-2).

6. GOD SPEAKS THROUGH WHATEVER OR WHOMEVER HE CHOOSES, BUT NEVER IN DISAGREEMENT WITH THE BIBLE​

“For God does speak — now one way, now another — though no one perceives it” (Job 33:14).

I didn’t say God had a spirit..I said God is Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of both the Father (1 Co 2:14, 3:16, 7:40, etc. ) and the Son (Ac 16:7, Ro 8:9, Gal 4:6, Php 1:19, etc.).

My thoughts -

If all God desired were people saved and given eternal life then Jesus would have come in the first century. He would have been killed, then rose and all who followed Him would receive eternal life. Then God would make a new earth.

However, 4,000 years went by and now over 2,000 years so there is more than just restoring the earth and having people with eternal life. There is `US IN CHRIST.` And that never could have come about before the Lord ascended, made Head of His BOdy and given His Holy Spirit to make us like Him. We partake of His Divine nature. That was all impossible before.

God purposed for this to be fulfilled, (people in the image of Christ) and He predestined it for those `IN CHRIST.` It was not available before Christ ascended and gave His Holy Spirit to make believers like Himself.

It seems you are focusing on just the `predestined` part and not understanding the context of `predestined in Christ.`

It is BECAUSE of Christ that people have eternal life.

Think of Abel, he is not in Christ, but it is because of Christ`s sacrifice 4,000 years later that God was able to `obtain witness that he was righteous. ` (Heb. 11: 4)

Then there is Noah, who `became the heir of righteousness which is according to faith, ` (Heb. 11: 7) because he obeyed what God told Him (building the ark).

Abraham by faith obeyed God for he was told and looked for a city which had foundations, whose builder and maker was God. ` (Heb. 11: 10)

Rahab, the prostitute did not perish with those who did not believe, when she received the spies with peace. ` (Heb. 11: 31)

And so many more who never heard of Jesus, (because He was not yet manifest) and they were never able to partake of the divine nature when Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to His Body. All those OT saints were not `predestined in Christ.` They were made righteous because by faith they believed what God told them to do. (Heb. 11: 32 - 38)

Man was created with a conscience, which gave Adam to know that disobeying God's command was wrong.

You know since the fall of man, mans conscience is defiled and seared regarding the life of God Spiritually 1 Tim 4:1-2

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Titus 1:15

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

The unbelievers conscience is defiled, and defiled is in the perfect tense in the original, so its like that once and for all in a unbelieving condition.
