All takes time to learn, understand, when we start our new journey as a Born Again...

Do you find this an interesting subject to discuss?

Not quite sure what it is, that you are calling a subject, here. What you are saying touches on the Doctrine of Sanctification, but it seems just a statement: That sanctification takes time, learning and experiencing.

Are you asking if it is interesting that it takes time, as opposed to regeneration that happens instantly or time-irrelevant?

Are you asking if Sanctification itself is interesting, or the Doctrine of Sanctification is interesting?

Well, whichever of the above you meant, yes, it is interesting. But maybe you meant something else.

Sorry for the confusion..I have my own way of explaining and understanding.LOL.

I find the flesh fascinating “ NOW” I didn’t at the time, when I was first Born Again...I used to wonder what on Earth was going on...not understanding that my flesh / old nature was at battle with the Spirit..

Oh yes, sanctification has taken me years to understand..

Discuss whatever you like Brother....hope I’m making sense,🤣💗🙏

You’ll get used to my silly humour..😂

Romans 6:6-23

King James Version

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Remember when we were in the flesh and hadn’t been regenerated by God.....oh boy I lived a life of sin and the enemy wrecked havoc in my life.

Then along came God and for the past 31 yrs has been undoing all that hurt ,pain, confusion, anger, ..sifting it all out and replacing it with his Love and spiritual knowledge....WOW!!.....of course he’s revealed all of this to my heart over the years....head knowledge is no good without God’s spiritual knowledge that must speak to the heart of his child........just my thoughts.

Another problem I found on my walk with God....was my pride and ego.....I kept bigging it up and arguing until the cows came home......what was that about.

A BIG FAT WASTE OF “ SELF”. God couldn’t work in me, not until I let go of self in that area....then he had to bring me to that realisation that it was self....what a journey that has been....Praise God for it....just my testimony and thoughts ..

Online source.

A central focus of Jesus' teachings and the gospel message is to be reborn as a believer in Christ and a child of God. While the phrase "die to self" is actually not explicitly found in scripture, it is closely related to the idea of being born again and devotion of faith. The closest thing found in the Bible is where Paul writes, “our old self was crucified” (Romans 6:6). Dying to yourself means to forego the selfish, physical, and egotistical desires of this world and wholeheartedly seek the kingdom of God.

Amen!!!
