Personally I think the "Antichrist", when he's revealed, will be out of the ECONOMIC/POLITICAL realm. The "Pope" isn't "significant enough" to take over the whole world.

Satan confesses Jesus the Son of came in the flesh. He hates all flesh. He waited 40 days after the father sent him in the wilderness as the scapegoat . Satan was not the Antichrist or an antichrist either. The word doesn't just mean someone who hates Christ and opposes Him. It meant someone who would be trying to pass themselves off as Daniel 9:25's fulfillment of the prophesied Messiah / the Christ that was to come in the flesh: one of the "false Christs" that Jesus predicted in Matthew 24:24 would come in His own generation's time.

There were many "false Christs" in those days trying to present themselves as fulfilling this promised Messiah role, but instead of a salvific Messiah, they wanted one that would save Judea from Roman rule. And they needed to stake their claim to that Messiah role as close to Daniel's prophesied year as possible, or else their claim to be the Messiah / the Christ would not have been plausible to their fellow-Jews who knew their Daniel 70-week prophecy scriptures.

Cherry picking and finding the word mother without context is not rightly dividing . It seems you give up to easily.
