I see your point. But think about it this way. The RCC and her pope claim to be the true church. There are many, many members. The pope is carried around like a god, he is considered the Vicar of Christ. You and I know it’s a false religion but many are deceived. There is much more I can add to these things.

I don't disagree. But to hang my hat on that....

This topic is too complicated to claim anyone has the answer. Over the last week I've seen 3 positions on this topic...all different and all claiming to be the truth. Funny thing is major portions of each one sounded believable.

Fortaintly as Christians we'll miss the trib. I don't know how much of the up and coming beast system we'll have to endure prior to the rapture.

Vicar is from the Latin "vicarius", which means "a substitute, or proxy". So "Substitute for Christ", or "Instead of Christ", or "In place of Christ" are all valid renderings of the meaning of "Vicar of Christ".

The Lord did not appoint the office of "Pope" (Father); that is a man-made invention.
