Romans 11:26a.... And so all Israel will be saved.

The Elect Gentiles were grafted into the New Covenant Promises to Elect Israel. When God announced the New Covenant to Israel as here Jer 31:31-34

31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Now Rom 11 makes it clear that Gentiles now partake of that fatness and blessing to Elect Israel Rom 11:16-17

16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

All those promises to Israel in Jer 31:31-34 are Gospel promises made to them, and yet the Mystery being made known in a more clearer light shows that Gentiles partake of the same promises Eph3:6

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Christ is the Mediator of that Covenant and its promises Heb 8:6-13

6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

So its through this grafting in the Branches of the Gentiles into Elect Israel, making them also Elect Israel, thats how or in what manner all Elect Israel shall be saved Rom 11:25-26

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

This is the Church, the Body of Christ the Mediator of the New Covenant.

It was prophesied that Gentiles would be called by the name Israel, foretelling the inclusion of the them into Elect Israel Isa 44:5

5 One shall say, I am the Lord's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

This is the fulfillment of the Abrahamic Promises to include Gen 12:3

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

This is linked to Isa 44:1-4

Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

2 Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

That's why the Spirit came as the blessing of Abraham upon the Gentiles Gal 3:13-14

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

So Gentiles can call themselves Israel as Per Isa 44:5

5 One shall say, I am the Lord's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

This is a Spiritual reality, nothing to do with the natural.9

The covenant is the same for both, follow and you shall be my people....

Scripture affirms that called out Israel in the OT and the called out Church in the NT are One and the same. For instance Israel is called the Church Acts 7:38

38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with athe angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively coracles to give unto us: 9

The Church is the New Israel composed of both saved jews and gentiles. That both saved jews and gentiles are the new manifestion of Israel is understood by these inspiried words Eph 2:12

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Now Christ has made them One Commonwealth Israel Eph 2:14

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one[commonwealth/citizenship], and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Saved Gentiles now have citizenship with Israel

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens[in the commonwealth of Israel] with the saints, and of the household of God;

This is also pictured in Rom 11 with the Olive Tree, with saved Gentiles being Grafted into the citizenship with saved Israel the household of God 9

Yes, the idea of two distinct programs running in the background of the Bible can only lead to chaotic conclusions, and to mistaking the olive tree of Roman 11.

What a waste--the amount of time people have spent trying to make two unresolvable programs both 'make sense' by clipping passages for/against here and there to save the notion of two programs.

Ps 105, among other places, said that all the promises to Abraham (and it means about the land) were fulfilled in the Exodus. That's why the Messianic ones were fulfilled as the NT says in the events of Christ: Acts 13, Rom 15, 2 Cor 1, where the mission to the nations, not land occupation, is the promise.

In his paper on the role of Israel, Rev Stewart shows how OT Covenant Promises to National Israel are fulfilled to the Church of the NT by the Head of the Church, Christ:

The Role of Israel (3)

Most premillennialists and all dispensationalists apply the predictions of the OT prophets to ethnic Israel which they believe is to be restored spiritually in a future earthly millennium. One way to evaluate their system is to examine OT prophecies concerning Israel which are interpreted and applied by the Holy Spirit in the NT. Last time we considered Amos 9:11-15 and its explanation in Acts 15:13-18. This time we turn to the great promise of Jeremiah 31: “[31] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: [32] Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: [33] But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. [34] … and I will remember their sin no more.”

With whom is the “new covenant” to be made when “the days come” (31)? It is to be made “with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah” (31, 33), that is, with those whose “fathers” God brought “out of the land of Egypt” (32). Thus, interpreting Jeremiah 31:31-34 literally and without reference to any other part of Scripture, the new covenant is to be made with national Israel and Judah (a “house” [31] and “people” [33]), the descendants of those whom God redeemed from Egypt. No mention is made of the Gentiles or a catholic church at all.

However, Jeremiah 31:31-34 is understood by the NT writers very differently. The citations in Hebrews 8:8-12 and 10:16-17, in their contexts, teach us that the new covenant is established upon the sacrifice and intercession of Jesus Christ, the heavenly high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Thus the Holy Spirit declares, “Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (9:28). Can this be restricted just to ethnic Jews? Moreover, though the writer to the Hebrews has much to say about the new covenant and its relationship to Christ’s blood and His heavenly priesthood and kingship, he has nothing to say about any future earthly millennium for the physical descendents of Jacob.

When He instituted the Lord’s Supper, Christ had Jeremiah 31 in His mind: “this is my blood of the new testament [covenant], which is shed for many” (Matt. 26:28; Mark 14:24; Luke 22:20). Christ’s new covenant blood redeemed His people from “every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation” (Rev. 5:9). Thus Paul tells the largely Gentile church in Corinth that at the Lord’s Table they drink “the new testament [i.e., covenant] in [Christ’s] blood” (I Cor. 11:25). Clearly, “Israel” and “Judah” in Jeremiah 31 refer to the catholic church of the NT redeemed in Christ, and not merely ethnic Jews either in our days or in a future millennium. Rev. Stewart

That the Church is Israel is seen n the redemption promise made to Israel and fulfilled in the Church by Christs death for His church. Ps 130:8

8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Fulfilled Titus 2:14

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 10

Now notice how the Church Christ redeemed is designated a peculiar people Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

That designation is only for Israel, remember Exodous 19:5

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Deut 14:2

For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Notice a peculiar people unto Himself. Now what does the Holy Spirit say of the redeemed Church comprised of men and women of all ethnicities

Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Again purify unto Himself a peculiar people. Folks there can only be one peculiar people unto God, the very word peculiar denotes that. Its the greek word periousios:

  1. that which is one's own, belonging to one's possessions
    1. a people selected by God from the other nations for his own possession
    2. Now thats the Church, the Body of Christ, The Israel of God.

BTW this isnt replacement theology as some say, but fulfillment theology. The NT fulfills the OT !

BTW this isnt replacement theology as some say, but fulfillment theology. The NT fulfills the OT !

Yes, the sense of fulfillment is not as though there is a test for exactitude going on. Instead it is about how an event answers a previous promise. Joshua said twice that 'whatever was promised to Abraham' was fulfilled in the gaining of Cana. Ps 105 says the same, or even the exodus (this may be the source of the 'seder' (passover) prayer/praise 'it would have been enough...' a lyric that keeps building on many levels of events, but always says the lower 'would have been enough.'

No one will find baptism in the OT tradition, but being baptized by John 'fulfills all righteousness.'

A new temple was coming, and 'He spoke of his body.'

Finally, Christ's resurrection 'fulfills everything promised to the fathers.' Acts 13.

So it is rarely a test of exactness, and always a matter of seeing a theme become dominant in a new expression. Or not so new if you know the opening lines of the story well!

If we are Justified in and by the Lord Jesus Christ as His Church is, then are we Israel, since Justification in Him is promised only to Israel Isa 45:25

25 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

If we are Justified in and by the Lord Jesus Christ as His Church is, then are we Israel, since Justification in Him is promised only to Israel Isa 45:25

25 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

Yes, the prospect of this verse, among others, sets up the meaning of 11:26 for "saved." I don't see anywhere else where 'sozo' is about the condition of the land. But there is the sense of Heb 6, which is that a reception of the Christ message by the Hebrews would have prevented the burning of the land, in that generation specifically. Likewise the warning of Acts 3 that anyone who did not follow the new Moses would be 'humiliatingly disinherited' (exolethreuthaesetai).

Israel is the Church when again we look at and consider the redemption promise made to Israel Ps 130:7-8

7 Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

The Promise is that the Lord shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. Now this is fulfilled in the church Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Titus is written to the Church, the Elect of God Titus 1:1

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

Its the same people, the Church, and Israel being redeemed from all iniquity ! No not ethnic national israel, they were a type, a shadow, but Spiritual Israel, Christs and Abrahams Spiritual seed. 10

The Church, the Body of Christ has not replaced Israel, but is Israel in union with her Husband and Saviour Jesus/Israel. Yes Jesus is Israel, scripture reveals this. Who does the Prophet mean as Israel here Isa 49:3

And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

This is none other than Jesus Christ in whom God is Glorified.

Jn 13:31

Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

Jn 17:4

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Now the name Israel means:

Israel = "God prevails"

Remember when God first named Jacob Israel ? Notice the words Gen 32:28

And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

The greek word for Israel :

Israel = "he shall be a prince of God"

The risen Christ is the Prince Israel and Saviour Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Now this word prince equates to Israel, now understand, this Prince Israel is the Head of His Body the Church, and One with His Wife, who can deny that Christ is now the Head of His Body the Church Eph 5:23

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Herein lies the great Mystery, that Christ and His Body the Church are One Flesh Eph 5:30-32

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

So the Church is One Flesh with Israel, the Prince of God, who has prevailed.

If Christ is Israel, the servant of God in whom God is Glorified Isa 49:3

And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

Then His Body the Church, with whom He is One Flesh, is also Israel, this is the Mystery! 11

I think you are on the right track, but this line is out of place:

The greek word for Israel :

Israel = "he shall be a prince of God"

Being a title--of a nation at that--there is no Greek word for a proper Hebrew title; you would just use the same term.

2, while you had 'Israel' mean 'God prevails' above, you now say the term means 'he shall be a prince of God.' This doesn't add up. (Btw, I think the complete meaning of Israel is 'he wrestles with God and God prevails.' Or shorter: 'he wrestled with God, who prevailed.')

Israel and the Church are the same, Jacob spoke of this in prophesying about the gathering of the People through Christ Messiah, the Seed of the woman, Paul established the same prophesy Gen 49:9-10

9 Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?

10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Shiloh is Jesus Christ, and He shall come, do a work [His Cross Work] and it shall be for the gathering of the People, the Church of God out of the jews and gentiles.

The High Priest also either wittngly or unwittinly spoke of the same John 11:52

And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

Now Paul Eph 1:10

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Also John again Jn 10:16

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

The word bring is another way of saying gather ! 11

Did you check the Hebrew and the Greek for Israel?

Did you check the Hebrew and the Greek for Israel?

there wouldn't be a Greek for Israel because it is a Hebrew term being used where people live near and around Israel. There is no Greek for Rome. There is no Greek for Carthage. Spelling differences, yes, but you are talking about etymology.

I looked it up in a Greek concordance
