Jesus Christ founded the new covenant church for the salvation of all men! (Jn 1:16-17) Christ is the truth! (Jn 14:6) Christ and his church are one!
(Acts 9:4 eph 4:4 eph 5:32)

Christ founded the church for the salvation of souls!
Teach and sanctify all men unto eternal salvation!
Matt 28:19

Jesus Christ “did not” establish a church and send the Holy Spirit to cos spiritual blindness, anarchy, and chaos!
Protestants have changed the spirit of truth into a spirit of error, and the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church the bride of Christ into a harlot of 30,000 sects .

Only Christ has authority to found a church, Matt 16:18 all other are false of the tradition of men!

now the eternal church is God’s kingdom founded by God the perfect spotless bride of Christ prepared by God from heaven!

how can there be something wrong with his bride???

How can Christ divorce his bride and marry another Protesting, church of rebellion???

The church and the truth is from God and is immutable, it cannot be reformed. They are divine.

matt 16:18 shall not prevail
Jn 8:32 you shall know the truth
Jn 16:13 HS leads the apostles into all truth then teach us Matt 28:19
Matt 18:17 must hear the church
Lk 10:16 hear the apostles
Jn 10:16 one church
Matt 5:14 light of the world
1 Tim 3:15 pillar of truth

The church is well ordered by God in Christ with the Holy Spirit and angels!

Jn 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Matt 16:18-19 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Jn 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ….

Now the way to reach Christ is not hard to find: it is the Church. Rightly does Chrysostom inculcate: “The Church is thy hope, the Church is thy salvation, the Church is thy refuge.” (“Hom. de capto Euthropio,” n. 6.) It was for this that Christ founded it, gaining it at the price of His blood, and made it the depositary of His doctrine and His laws, bestowing upon it at the same time an inexhaustible treasury of graces for the sanctification and salvation of men.

Spiritual Fathers have care for our souls!

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Jn 21:17 feed my sheep:

Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they care for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

1 Tim 1:2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you

1 John 2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

That makes Paul and John spiritual fathers, pastors of our souls!

The church existed and exercised authority from Christ before the New Testament was written, and the church wrote it! So the church of the apostles does not require scripture to know the truth, they were taught by Christ in person and must teach us: Matt 28:19

Ephesians 1:10
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

I find that various categories of covenants don't really hold up; the NT (the final word on it) tends to see only one, see Gal 3 about Abraham. The new was already there, but being used in reverse, and the eternal is the new, says the last word in Hebrews. We have to take Hebrews last word on it, especially.

Actually there is just the covenant with Christ and if you read Gal 3 closely, you see this has shadows back to Abraham, but if that's true then its the same back to Adam. At the end, in Hebrews, we find that all the previous was an eternal covenant, meaning that the Godhead was committed to the redemption of man no matter what, before the world began, Titus 1.

On a smaller level, there is the covenant with humanity about not destroying the earth by cataclysm.

Why do some try to practice both the mosaic and new covenants?

Why do some try to practice both the mosaic and new covenants?

There are some ways to worship through both, but you would only see value in the mosaic kind if you grew up in it. The new covenant is so much a matter of the heart that there are almost no external practices anyway. 'Christ our passover' is kept apart from a formal feast, but hey, if you want to taste some great food and recall the symbols, no problem. Some people really bond to the seder, but it needs to be presented in its fulfilled form; Jesus accomplished 'his exodus.' etc.

It’s not only impossible but absurd, only one covenant can be in effect, how many mediators are there?
1 Tim 2:5
Mosaic covenant was fulfilled by Christ and has no mediator
Jesus Christ is the head of the church, (eph 5:23) the body of Christ,
(col 1:18) the new and eternal covenant, (pre-figured Jer 31:31) (Heb 8:8) new covenant replaces the Mosaic covenant, (Heb 8:13) holy mother church replaced Israel Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Christ replaces David as king, (Lk 1:32-33) Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and men, (1 Tim 2:5 & Heb 12:24) but a mediator remains on earth mediating between God and His people, but Christ ascended to heaven, (acts 1) before He did He founded His church, on Peter, and the apostles, and their successors!

The mosaic covenant only pointed to the conning of Christ and we’re abrogated at the cross and the promulgation of the gospel Christians are forbidden to practice them without offense to Christ, it is tantamount to saying he never came!
Thanks

Hebrews 8:13- By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

Hebrews 9
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

16 In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, 17 because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living. 18 This is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood. 19 When Moses had proclaimed every command of the law to all the people, he took the blood of calves, together with water, scarlet wool and branches of hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the people. 20 He said, “This is the blood of the covenant, which God has commanded you to keep.” 21 In the same way, he sprinkled with the blood both the tabernacle and everything used in its ceremonies. 22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

23 It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. 25 Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. 26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Well there some places where the early Christians did things like meet in the temple, or were going to a feast, or Paul shaved his head, but in their hearts they didn't "keep" the Law. See the key passages of Rom 14 or I Cor 10. The contrast is expressed as weaker vs stronger brother (those in Judaism are the weaker). But they are not forbidden. Of course, on atonement for sin, Hebrews forbids the return. The weak vs strong group has a title as a group: the debatable things.

re Christ replaces David
It is important to remember that Acts 2:30 says it always was Christ's resurrection that was the enthronement. So from that angle, it is not replaced. It is, of course, replacing what Judaism thought. This is why I wrote THE COVENANT REVOLT (2023) at Amazon. There are 2 other key doctrines where there is replacement of what Judaism thought by the Gospel.

I have found the same misconstrual about Eph 3:5-6. In Greek grammar (and English), if you throw a prepositional phrase up front ("In the Gospel...") then all the rest is determined by that. Paul did so about membership, citizenship, inheritance in Israel in Eph 3. The important point is that these things are shared in the Gospel; they would not be shared in the Law. Once again it is a matter of differing with what Judaism thought.

The movie JEREMIAH 2018 does a good job of introducing the new covenant hope just when Israel is failing in the face of Babylon.

28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

Major covenants!

God initiated each covenant and the mediator always remains on earth mediating the covenant except for Christ who made Peter His personal representative and vicar! (Matt 16:18-19) with the keys of jurisdictional authority over the kingdom or new covenant church!

Adam
(Marriage covenant)

Noah
(Family covenant)

Abraham
(Tribal covenant)

Moses:
(National covenant)

Jesus Christ:
(Universal covenant)

New and eternal covenant founded by Jesus Christ! Matt 16:18

Universal (Catholic)
World, universal, all men

Lk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ( catholic universal) All men!

Lk 2:31 prepared before the face of all (catholic) people. All men!

Jn 1:29 lamb of God who takes way the sins of the world. All men!

Jn 3:16 for God so loved the world

1 Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. All men!

Lk 2: 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. All men!

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (All people universal) All men!

1 Tim 2:5 one mediator

Jn 10:16 One new covenant church

Only Jesus Christ has authority to found the church on Peter and the apostles! Matt 16:18-19 Matt 18:18
Jn 20:21 eph 2:20

All others are sects the tradition of men, full of errors!

Always consult the NT on these things. The last word is there is just one eternal one. The Law was not another one--a mistake by the Judaizers to think it was, because OT Israel was always in prep for the mission of outreach to the nations. It was Christ who was a 'covenant for the nations.'--Isaiah.

Thanks

Mostly good stuff. One step closer on David is to say what Acts 2:30-32 says, which is that David saw the enthronement as the resurrection.

That’s really confusing
Are you saying there is only one covenant in effect and it is final
If so I agree
Thanks

Yes, it only attempted to explain the diversion which Judaizers believed they had, but in fact did not.
