Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
The nations are first smitten into complete surrender, so the the Lord inherits them all by right of Lordship to rule them as He pleases.
The rod of iron breaks them utterly from any will to resist. And then they are broken into pieces to separate the good from the evil.
And as a good potter, He will remake the good pieces into His vessels of mercy, and destroy the bad pieces from off the earth.
No good potter breaks any vessel to destroy it all.
The rod of iron is the shepherd's rod to guard the sheep by killing the wolves.
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
The Lord's Millennium kingdom on earth will be the fulfillment of the promise to all the meek of the earth: He will inherit and possess all nations of the earth, to execute righteous authority with immediate power to acquit the innocent and to destroy the wicked.
Only a foolish potter in wrath at his own errors breaks his own vessels to destruction. The prophecy of the Lord returning to destroy all nations and people on earth, is of another christ that never comes to save, but only to destroy.
Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
The last great false christ will come to destroy all, before the true Christ and Lord comes again to destroy the wicked and save the good.
