Fruit Of The Spirit

If we have been birthed in the Spirit, then we should bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.....shouldn’t we?

I believe it takes time for fruit to grow and mature....after all it’s the Holy Spirit who indwells us is the fruit bearer..

My question is why after many years ,of walking in the Spirit, I don’t see the fruit of the Spirit in many so called Christians?

I’m not judging anyone , I’m just trying to understand ....why this is?

Doesn’t God’s word say, you will know them by their fruit.

Admin, I wasn’t sure where to post this topic, apologies if it’s in the wrong section..
Because there is difference between a Christian by heart and a Christian by title. I have seen the results

I find it is easier to see the fruits in those who speak in an encouraging manner to others. The type of person who bears the fruits of the spirit is a builder of men they strengthen the body they encourage it and it is in the words they speak.

And sometimes we have to step up to the plate to show the fruits in order for the rest of the garden to start to blossom

Not many believers stay in the vine, which is the solid teaching about Christ and justification.

Some details from Galatians might help. If you believe that Christ's righteousness is your basis for fellowship, you have a way to enjoy all the range of people Paul referred to in 'there is neither...' If you are a Judaizer, the Law is the basis, and you have few. That is what the fruit verse is about.

A Born Again..learns to stay in the vine , through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have a living relationship with God through the Spirit, we have that new heart and Spirit within....we are being made into the image of Jesus, ....the Holy Spirit indwells his child..hence the “ LIVING “ spiritual birth...which only God can do.....a Born Again can also only understand scripture through the Holy Spirit....Without the Holy Spirit who indwells us....we are NOTHING...Praise God for being birthed in the Spirit.

John 15:1-25 CEB

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vineyard keeper. He removes any of my branches that don’t produce fruit, and he trims any branch that produces fruit so that it will produce even more fruit. You are already trimmed because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. A branch can’t produce fruit by itself, but must remain in the vine. Likewise, you can’t produce fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, then you will produce much fruit. Without me, you can’t do anything. If you don’t remain in me, you will be like a branch that is thrown out and dries up. Those branches are gathered up, thrown into a fire, and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified when you produce much fruit and in this way prove that you are my disciples. “As the Father loved me, I too have loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy will be in you and your joy will be complete. This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than to give up one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I don’t call you servants any longer, because servants don’t know what their master is doing. Instead, I call you friends, because everything I heard from my Father I have made known to you. You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you could go and produce fruit and so that your fruit could last. As a result, whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. I give you these commandments so that you can love each other. “If the world hates you, know that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, I have chosen you out of the world, and you don’t belong to the world. This is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you, ‘Servants aren’t greater than their master.’ If the world harassed me, it will harass you too. If it kept my word, it will also keep yours. The world will do all these things to you on account of my name, because it doesn’t know the one who sent me. “If I hadn’t come and spoken to the people of this world, they wouldn’t be sinners. But now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me also hates the Father. If I hadn’t done works among them that no one else had done, they wouldn’t be sinners. But now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. This fulfills the word written in their Law, They hated me without a reason.

But people do fail; we get misguided about what is important.

Only if you don't know where it is presented.
I know He never said those exact words which was my point.

Jesus never said:

no fruit, no root.

Please quote Him.

Thanks

Well, what are you looking for as far as fruit?

I’m not judging anyone , I’m just trying to understand ....why this is?
Again, what fruit are you expecting to see?

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. Matt 7:15-20.

I think the point of the passage is a warning about prophets and false teachers. You will recognize them by their false teachings and practices which should be clearly seen if we are renewing our mind by the washing of the word.

As far as seeing fruit in our brothers and sisters in the Lord, that may be a little more difficult because we are human. Though we may witness someone doing something nice for someone, there are many things we probably don't witness in some people. There are different personality types, some aren't very outgoing. We just cannot know the heart. If someone claims to be a believer, I don't think we can judge them by looking for their good fruits, some fruit grows very slowly, but if we see them doing things of the world which are not Christian, well maybe we would have some doubts there.

Remember the smothering wick? Or the bruised reed. We may think there is no fruit there, but God sees it clearly.

That's why I think that passages in context is to warn us about false teachers and they are exposed by their fruit.

I believe we should all ask ourselves, have we beared forth bad fruit in our Christian walk? If we take the passage in only a strict one time offense sense, we are all damned.

We then should also ask ourselves, is that "the Big Picture" of our Christian life, or is it the struggle with sin in our ongoing sanctifying process, Roman 7:13-25 Galatians 5:16-17?

2 Corinthians 13:5 should be considered as well.
Amen

Keeping in mind that deception is no excuse, as it was not for Eve.

We must test the spirits.

But people do fail; we get misguided about what is important.
My point is...they are a child of God....therefore will eventually bear fruit, they have been birthed supernaturally in the Spirit, they know 100% they are born from above.

Therefore know that God is TRUE to HIS WORD,,.,God is a LIVING SPIRIT...he’s ALIVE in all of HIS children...through the Spirit....we are being made into the image of Christ....of course I understand one must know this in their heart/ spirit...again only the Holy Spirit can reveal that to the heart.

Of course some go off track...why would that be a worry?....when we have been birthed in the Spirit ?

You must know surely that God is in control..if he didn’t allow us to go off track, how could we learn....he is in control of my life and has great plans for it...of course HE and only HE got me to that place of understanding....all about growing/ maturing in the Spirit..

We don’t grow / mature in ourselves..LOL.

The Holy Spirit in us is the fruit bearer....he has and does much work in his children each day ..can’t you see him at work in your life, even through the chaos, that he allows, working everything out according to his purpose and plan for our lives...MIND BLOWING!

What he does in his children’s life, is for HIS GLORY....everything is about GOD and ZILCH about us....I don’t even recognise who I once was....she’s LONG GONE!....Praise GOD!!

We are human, but, we have been birthed in the Spirit ,have we not?

Who do you think grows and matures you?

If I’m coming across as confrontational, apologies..text is hard I find...

Yes, only God knows what’s in our heart...our behaviour at times, doesn’t reflect the heart...or does it?

Again for me, it’s getting that old mindset in line..the renewing of our minds.@Behold is an excellent teacher on the renewing of our minds...or should I say the Holy Spirit is, Through him.

We plant our own seeds. We watch our own desires grow after the seed we plant. The fruit looks like us... because we planted the seed. It is our seed.

However, the fruit that is important only matters the Husbandman. He alone has planted HIS garden. He demands fruit after HIS likeness and oftentimes He is the only One that recognizes it.

To me, fruit relative to the Maker is displayed in the preaching of the Gospel. How a person handles and preaches the Gospel is an indication of where they come from.

If there was en amogi I could to express how brilliantly amazing this was. We have a calling to be planters of the kingdom we pkant the seed but he is the gardener and we don't plant the seeds simply because we are called to or because it is what we as believers are to do it is a joy you wait at his door eagerly waiting for the next mission.

I have seen a river of rainbow colors so beautiful I was pouring tears, have you ever seen something so beautiful that your eyes are just running over?

I can say personally I have never seen anything more beautiful than when I see him make that spark in people when you can see his inflesnce made contact even if only subtle how he reminds his children of the love they once knew with him and the joy and life that springs forth from it

This is what the kingdom does the fruits of the spirit the gifts of the spirit the life and holiness of the kingdom that springs forth drom deep in us it is literally the gift that keeps on giving

Galatians 5:22 says Faith is a Fruit of the Spirit...

Isn't it true that our First Faith is a Fruit of Grace?

And, Grace is of the Holy Spirit...

He gave lines of discernment to know how.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

They will broaden the way in how to come to God the Father by other than the Son; by pointing to the Holy Spirit as if He is another way to come to God the Father by.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

The ecumenical Nicene creed of 381 A.D. has broaden the way in the worship place to include the worship of the Holy Spirit with the Father & the Son as these ecumenical creeds were developed to gather grapes of thorns and figs of thistles.

In these apostate movement of the "Holy Spirit" in thinking it is a revival when it was actually apostasy by placing emphasis on the baptism of Holy Spirit with evidence of tongues like in Welsh Revival in 1904-05 & the Azusa Street Revival in 1906-09 and then the likes of Ernest Angeley's Healing Crusade, slain the spirit, being drunk in the spirit, Toronto's Blessings, Pensacola Outpouring, & holy laughter movement, it did not matter if the believer were Catholic or various heretical Protestants, the phenomenon gathers all since it is not about the gospel of Jesus Christ but the glory of that movement of the "spirit' thus gathering grapes of thorns & figs of thistles

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

We have modern tongue speaker today that errantly believes tongues are for private use and yet would condemn being drunk in the spirit, or slain in the spirit, or holy laughter movement to be not of God, but they ignore His words above because they got that tongue "for private use" by that same route which is receiving the baptism with the Holy Spirit by that sign of tongues for why it is not coming with interpretation, but is gibberish nonsense and thus confusion which God is not the author of that either. That which they condemn is by how the others receive the "Holy Spirit" by other signs too.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In these apostate movement of the spirit are healings and casting out of devils, prophesying as they can receive visions, and all of that.

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

So by not heeding His words in how to come to God the Father by the only way of the Son, they open themselves up to seducing spirits & doctrines of devils because the indwelling holy Spirit would always points the bride to keep going to the Bridegroom to avoid the spirits of the antichrist that would take their eyes off of the Bridegroom.

The word antichrist as applied in scriptures means "instead of Christ" as in "instead of the Son" and so while the visitations of these spirits of the antichrist are doing their job of taking saved believers eyes off of Him, the indwelling holy Spirit & scripture never will.

Luke 13:24-30 KJV To avoid that iniquity is to strive ye to enter through that straight gate in these latter days where faith is hard to find because the consequence is being left behind at the pre great tribulation rapture event.
