The Lenski experiment. It is now 40 years old. It was meant to demonstrate if life began on its own.
He showed 8 minutes of a documentary on this experiment.
The numbers of mutations were traced chronologically. The experiment froze samples every 500 generations. In 2003, some bacteria began eating other things than normal.
What is the sleight of hand that sold this idea? For one, the number of humans chromosome changes 10-20x that of primates, so identifying them as the same is not worthwhile. By mathematical comparison, the theory is saying that since we can reach a new inch of height in a high jump, we could go to the moon. That is how badly the genetic comparison is formed.
Mutations randomly move a letter in a text. This is not favorable in 0.1% of mutations. It is much, much lower. It is hardly a factor. So really, it was a lie to say this is favorable. They are neutral or negative.

Lenski refused to debate Sanford, Bergman and DeYoung. Only 40 of 40K Michigan St U students came.
The inferior mutations would not have survived without lab food. They also wouldn't improve.
E. coli already has the ability to eat citrate because of oxygen. But this bacteria would not survive in a real situation. Yet this is claimed to be a poster child of mutation that support evolution. Life is devolving.
