The Saving results of the Death of Christ !

THE WORK OF CHRIST

Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. Isaiah 62:11

When I was a young man, the religious tradition in which I was raised spoke of “salvation” as a state which a man could attain by acting in his own free will to accept what CHRIST had done by HIS death on Calvary’s cross. It taught that if a man could be persuaded to “believe” and “receive CHRIST” then he could attain a standing or position known as “salvation”. Folks were urged to “get saved” as soon as possible so that in case they died they would be assured of a place in heaven where they could join all of the other neighbors and loved ones who had made similar “decisions” and gained heaven by their action of faith, avoiding the pit of hell in the process.

Though the work of CHRIST in dying on the cross was often spoken of, the true importance of what HE did was actually of secondary consequence since it was concluded that regardless of what HE had done on the cross, it made little difference if men did not “accept” it thereby making it effective in redeeming them. The basic concept which was taught was that CHRIST died for every individual on the face of the earth and had made the salvation of each one a possibility if they could just be persuaded to receive it and thereby gain its benefit; otherwise CHRIST had simply died in vain for all who did not believe.

While CHRIST’s work on the cross was said to be a payment for sin, yet the teaching was that no one was actually “saved” by it, only made “salvable”. The only sin that was left “unpaid for” was that of unbelief. So that by adding the work of faith to that which CHRIST did on Calvary this made a man saved. They said the only thing that could cause a man to go to hell was “unbelief.”

Therefore much time was spent and various methodologies adopted in order to influence men to exercise their “free will” and effect their own salvation by accepting HIM and making a profession of faith. They could even write the day and hour (in which they made this transaction) on a little card so if they ever began to doubt their “salvation” they could refer to the card and be assured. This scenario is played out in most churches and religious orders today with certain variations. Some require baptism in water as an act of obedience which washes away their sin, some expect that those who make such decisions to speak in a language unknown to men, some advocate that certain styles of dress be adopted, etc.

The list goes on but, in every case, the most important part of a man’s “salvation” is ultimately considered to be what “he does” since it is assumed that CHRIST has already done all that HE could do and has left this salvation up to men to either accept it or reject it. If that truly was the scenario that the LORD had displayed then no man would ever be saved, since the scripture clearly declares the deadness of men in their sinful state and says, “There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” (Rom 3:11)

How different is the scriptural message concerning the “work of CHRIST”? HE came into the world in order to perform a specific work for which HE was ordained. As the angel told Joseph, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Mat 1:21) “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,” (1Pet 1:18-20)

CHRIST is the REDEEMER, HE has bought and paid for the salvation of every one of those whom HE loved from before the foundation of the world. HE has not left one stone unturned nor in any wise failed to do everything that was needed in order to secure the redemption, justification, and sanctification of every one of them. Their salvation depends, one hundred percent, on what HE has done for them. “But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.” (Psa 37:39)

When you ask a true believer to describe his “salvation”, he only needs one word: CHRIST. “But Christ is all, and in all.” (Col 3:11) If he needs more then it is too much. “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” (1Cor 1:30) There is nothing lacking in that which CHRIST has performed. Not only has HE purchased the redemption of HIS people by paying their sin debt, but HE has imputed HIS perfect righteousness in keeping the law to their account. Not only that but HE has triumphed over death and become the “first fruits” of the resurrection, thereby assuring them that if they die they shall indeed live again.

In addition, HE has sent HIS SPIRIT into the world to lay claim to every one of HIS elect, and does draw them to HIMSELF in the appointed hour and does lead them from darkness into LIGHT. HE has also promised to return to this earth to receive that which is HIS at the last trump. “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” (John 6:37-39)

The salvation of the sons of GOD is totally the “work of CHRIST” from beginning to end. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb 12:2) “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” (Heb 9:12) It is a false “gospel” that declares anything less. This is why Paul said, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save (i.e.; except) Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” (1Cor 2:2)

To declare that CHRIST performed a work of salvation for a man which is not sufficient to save him, apart from some action on the man’s part, is to preach no “salvation” (only its possibility) at all, and is to count the precious blood of CHRIST as shed in vain for many. It is to disregard the efficacy of the blood of the SON of GOD and to deny the prophecy of Isaiah, “He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.” (Isa 53:11)

The atonement of CHRIST, which is the basis of the Christian faith can only be viewed in three possible scenarios. Either, 1. HE paid the price for the sins of all men, therefore all men are “saved”., or 2. HE paid the price for the sins of all men but actually saved none, leaving the final act of “salvation” in their hands. or finally and truthfully, 3. HE actually accomplished the work which HE came into the world to perform which was to redeem an elect people which were chosen in HIM before the foundation of the world and does save them to the uttermost. The latter is indeed the “work of CHRIST” upon which all who have been given “faith” must alone rely. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (Joh 10:27-28)

Christ’s Death Actually Saves:

Because those He died for resulted in their eternal redemption, it obtained t for them Heb 9:12

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Thats Salvation, the word redemption here means

a ransoming, a redemption

Usage: (in the Old Testament: ransoming from imprisonment for debt, or from slavery, release from national misfortune, etc.), liberation, deliverance, release. specifically, redemption from the penalty of sin

Redemption from the penalty of sin, which penalty is eternal death as Per Rom 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So redemption from the penalty of sin is the Gift of God by and through Christ by His death having obtained eternal redemption for us, which is eternal life from eternal death, which is Salvation ! In fct eternal redemption equates to that eternal inheritance the redeemed is called to Heb 9:15

15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Eternal inheritance is equivalent to that eternal life in Rom 6:23 10

John 12:32-33

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.

Christs own testimony to His own Saving death, hence there isnt one soul for whom Christ died that shall not come to Him or come to believe on Him and follow Him ! 24

Those Christ died for, they could never die in their sins, because when He died for them, He put away their sins Heb 9:26

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

This truth is vital to Preaching the Cross, what resulted from Christs Cross work, the sacrificing of Himself for sinners.

By Jesus Christ death upon the cross as our[His Church] Substitute, the Son of God paid our[His Church] debt, made atonement for our[His Church]sins, and redeemed us[His Church] from the curse of the law by making satisfaction to Divine justice for us[His Church].

Its just as Christ dishonoring to His Saving Death to say that His death saved no one apart from their believing, as to say His death saved no one apart from their good works of charity, or keeping the law, or water baptism.

Christ death is a saving death because those for whom He died, or suffered, it brings them to God. That means it effects conversion to God 1 Pet 3:18

18 For Christ also hath once suffered[or died] for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Those He died for, likewise will be quickened by the Spirit. Thats what begins their conversion or being brought to God.

Christ did so much more than dying for sin and making Salvation possible or available to all mankind, thats such a false teaching, However what He did do for them He died for, Gods Elect, He absolutely put away their sin before God Heb 9:26

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

The words put away means:

  1. abolition, disannulling, put away, rejection

He cancelled their sins, made them non and void.

Like Daniel stated He made and end of them Dan 9:24

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

And so consequently, them for whom this has been done for, no charge of sin can be laid charged against them, not even unbelief/disobedience. 24

Christ did so much more than dying for sin and making Salvation possible or available to all mankind, thats such a false teaching, However what He did do for them He died for, Gods Elect, He absolutely redeemed them from the curse of the Law Gal 3:13

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Thats Salvation, for sin finds its curses because of the Law 1 Cor 15:56

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

The law nor sin can condemn any sinner Christ died for. 24

Christ did so much more than dying for sin and making Salvation possible or available to all mankind, thats such a false teaching, However what He did do for them He died for, Gods Elect, He absolutely obtained for them eternal redemption Heb 9:12

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Not made it available, or merely possible, He obtained it for them, and brings them into the realization of it.

The word redemption here lutrósis:

lýtrōsis (a feminine noun) – properly, the payment of the full ransom-price to free a slave – particularly the redemption of an individual.

This redemption frees the sinner from neing a slave to sin, to obeying the Truth Rom 6:17

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants or slave of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

God must be thanked for being made free from being a slave of sin unto obedience, because He sent Christ to obtain eternal redemption for them !

Christ did so much more than dying for sin and making Salvation possible or available to all mankind, thats such a false teaching, However what He did do for them He died for, Gods Elect, He absolutely redeemed them unto God, by His Blood observe Rev 5:9

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

To be redeemed to God is Salvation, or why the New Song ? 25

Christs saving death is saving/salvation because it gives life, and that more abundantly. Jn 10:10-11

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they[Sheep] might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Notice in Vs 10 that Jesus says specifically of His Sheep, that the reason why He came into the world was so that they might [ as in purpose] have life, not to offer life to them, but so they may have it, experience it, and that in a abundant manner. Then He gives us in Vs 11 the cause and ground of that giving them life, because He giveth His Life [meaning His substitutionary death] for them the Sheep. His death for them, ensures them having [experientially] life and that more in abundant.

That word abundantly in Vs 10 is the word perissos and means:

  1. exceeding some number or measure or rank or need
    1. over and above, more than is necessary, superadded
      1. exceeding abundantly, supremely
      2. something further, more, much more than all, more plainly
    2. superior, extraordinary, surpassing, uncommon
      1. pre-eminence, superiority, advantage, more eminent, more remarkable, more excellent

This is speaking of Spiritual life, so Christs death ensures the spiritual abundant life. This is also what Christ meant whe He spake these words in Jn 6:33

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

The world here is not all without exception, but His Sheep World, all without distinction.

Both Faith and Repentance are the fruit of Christs Death and our reconciliation to Him. All for whom He died have been reconciled to God Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

So that reconciliation will be manifested by us returning to God, which entails Faith and Repentance. Peter writes of that here 1 Pet 2:24-25

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

The word returned here is the word epistrephō:

And its in the passive voice,

  1. to cause to return, to bring back
    1. to the love and obedience of God
    2. to the love for the children
    3. to love wisdom and righteousness

This is describing our conversion in Faith and repentance towards God. The saving death of Christ is responsible for our turning to God.

The results of the saving death of Christ is redemptive and so it effects the gathering of all Gods chosen people from around the world Ps 107:1-3

O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

Remember the high priest words in Jn 11 how that Christ should die and gather the children of God scattered abroad, and not just from the nation israel ? Jn 11:50-52

50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

This gathering together of the people of God is the fruit and success of the redemptive , saving death of Christ. 25

All for whom Christ died will be born again anew. When He died, those He died for were in union with Him, similar to how when Adam sin and died they died with him because in union with him. And so likewise when Christ was raised from the dead, they in union with Him were raised also with Him, and it will be made evident by giving them also newness of life, or the new birth.

Rom 6:4-5

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Now if we dont believe in this union with Christ, when He died, we died , when He arose with Him in union, then , if we believe in water baptism, that's what we are publicly saying, that we we were in union with Him, as He was our federal representative. And so His resurrection from the dead typifies our sure spiritual resurrection from the dead into newness of life ! So blessed are they who have part in the first resurrection !

The regeneration of those that Christ died for, is due to Christs resurrection from the dead, Peter writes 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The prep "by" here is dia and means:

: through, throughout, by the instrumentality of, (b) acc: through, on account of, by reason of, for the sake of, because of.

The words begotten us again is the word anagennaó:

/aná, "up, again," which intensifies 1080 /gennáō, "give birth") – properly, born-again or "born from on high."

313 /anagennáō ("born again, from above") is used twice in the NT (1 Pet 1:3,23) – both times referring to God regenerating a believer (giving a supernatural, new birth).

to produce again, beget again, beget anew; metaphorically: τινα, thoroughly to change the mind of one, so that he lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God, 1 Peter 1:3;

Strong's Greek: 313. ἀναγεννάω (anagennaó) -- to beget again

Thats were our believing comes from, thats part of the newness of life

Christs death put away our sins, hence justice satisfied, new life is given !

The religion of man doesn't believe that the death of Christ alone results in the Eternal Salvation of all for whom Christ died, namely His Sheep Jn 10:11,15 or His Church Eph 5:25, or His People Matt 1:21.
It would be most accurate to identify who His sheep and Church are, that is, Israel:

His death for His people produces saving results Jn 12:32-33 23,24
Again, why do you confuse the identity of who Christ died? He died for those under the Law: Israel.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. 33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.

23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
The "all men" are in context to His sheep, His Church, and "His people" who are Israel.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the God of the Hebrew people. Only.

But I get it. For 1900 years Gentiles have fed into this false belief that what once belonged to Israel now belongs to Gentiles because of the false teaching of Replacement Theology just because of the erroneous perception that Israel killed her Messiah, Savior, and King and because of this God cast away His people with the destruction of that nation and Temple by the Romans in AD 70.
But nothing is further than the truth.

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Gal. 4:4–6.

It doesn't say "those not under the Law," nor is there any Scripture in the bible God promised the Holy Spirit to Gentiles. But He did to Israel.

Everything having to do with redemption and salvation belong to Israel.

4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth
the adoption,
and the glory,
and the covenants,
and the giving of the law,
and the service of God,
and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom. 9:4–5.

Romans 9:4-5 covers everything that has to do with salvation.
The salvation of Israel.
Why can't you say that?
The Word of God was never given to Gentiles. Israel possessed and maintained the oracle of God.
Not Gentiles.
God doesn't even have covenant with Gentiles. If He did, they would have their own Scriptures, not always borrow on the Hebrew Scripture every Sunday morning and mid-week bible studies.

Make distinction. Be honest. Be accurate.

The Death of Christ alone saved them he died for, namely the Elect, the Sheep, since by His One Offering they were sanctified unto God once and for all Heb 10:10

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Taken from Hebrews, a "book" written of the Jews, by the Jews, and for the Jews.
Why does that sound familiar? Maybe Lincoln was Hebrew?

Christs Death produces Saving results because its the death that effects the Blood of the New Covenant. Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament/covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

This New Covenant Death has promises connected to it, these promises are unconditional, not conditioned on what the recipients [the many] have to meet, For Christ met all the conditions.

Under the Old Covenant, the recipients broke that Covenant Heb 8:7-12

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 25
