For those who put the Rapture and the Second Coming at roughly the same time, I offer this list of contrasts between the Rapture and the Second Coming. Each number in one section corresponds to the same number in the other section. This is also a list that supports the Rapture happening before the Tribulation, and the Second Coming happening at the end of the Tribulation. You will find a list like this one in many Prophecy books.

At the Rapture:
1. Christ comes FOR His own in the air
2. All believers are translated into new bodies
3. Christians are taken to the Father's House
4. There is no judgment on the earth
5. The Church will be in Heaven
6. It is an imminent occurrence
7. There are no signs preceding it
8. It affects believers only
9. It is a time of joy
10. it occurs before the day of Wrath
11. No mention of Satan
12. The Judgment Seat of Christ happens next
13. There is the marriage of the Lamb
14. Only Christ's own will see him
15. The Tribulation begins

At the Second Coming:
1. Christ comes WITH his own
2. No Translation of bodies
3. resurrected saints remain on earth
4. Christ judges the inhabitants of the earth
5. Christ sets up his kingdom on earth
6. It can not occur until the seven-year Trib period
7. The are numerous signs preceding it
8. It affects all humanity
9. It is a time of mourning
10. It occurs after the Tribulation
11. Satan is bound in abyss 1,000 years
12. No judgment seat of Christ
13. His bride descends with him to earth
14. Every eye will see him
15. The millennial reign of Christ begins

This is a pretty solid chart for Pre Tribbers

The apostolic teaching (1 Th 4:16-17) of Christ (Lk 10:16) locates the rapture with the second coming.

I would like to know where the scriptures are that say there is a seven year tribulation and the ones that say there will be a rapture of the saints (the saints taken out of the world) ever. Other than through natural death. It does say there is a point where the saints rise to meet him in the air as he returns, but it does not say that he continues down and they continue up. (1 Thess 4:13-18) If we look at the historical practice of victorious kings returning from battle, where elaborate celebrations occurred. The king in the lead, his armies behind him and the people rushing to meet him and following in victorious joy behind him though the streets.

Since Eddie cannot be bothered reading my posts, someone else will have to supply the scriptures. It would be good if the OP had scriptures for each point made.

That list comes from the book, "When the Trumpet Sounds".

Based on literal interpretation of prophetic riddles not spoken clearly (Nu 12:6-8), and
in disagreement with NT apostolic teaching (1 Th 4:16-17) of Christ (Lk 10:16).

Good stuff.

The days of Noah say a lot....

37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,

Currently in the world we see a lot of "eating and drinking"...Good times!!! people getting married...
Now, there is no way I can envision this at the end of the tribulation. Times won't be good then for the people on earth.
This days of Noah are obviously pre-trib....which makes the rapper pre-trib.

The bible also presents Jesus coming in two different settings...in the clouds the way Jesus left as per the angels in Acts 1 and then a second time where Jesus is riding a white horse. Many people don't get it....Jesus returns twice.

Christians are not destined for the 7 year tribulation wrath.....we can comfort each other with those words.

In the days of Noah, it was the people of God who were left behind. The rest were taken away - taken away by the flood and destroyed.

Symbolism is not meant to be interpreted as literal.
Christians are not destined for the 7 year tribulation wrath.....we can comfort each other with those words.
Christians can comfort themselves by knowing there is no "7 year tribulation wrath" and all the tribulations we do face while we are here, he carries us through, safely to the other side. Dispensationalism does not recognize tribulation and persecution for what it is. Or God's wrath, as though it only ever shows up at one time and not until the last seven years.

That is why so many simply compromise with the world, even in the church, to avoid the certain social persecution if they were to stand their ground. What will happen when/if what is social persecution becomes state run physical and financial persecution of Christians. Will they be tearing out their hair crying, "I was supposed to be out of here before this happened!" Or, will they be found staring into the clouds looking for him? Or will they simply deny the Christ with their mouths in order to get a job?

In the days of Noah, it was the people of God who were left behind. The rest were taken away - taken away by the flood and destroyed.
The former was aboout a new beginning, while the latter is about the final ending.

In the days of Noah, it was the people of God who were left behind. The rest were taken away - taken away by the flood and destroyed.
Eh. Depends upon how you want to look at it. Noah was taken away from the judgement and destruction of the flood in the ark.
Lot was taken away from the judgement and destruction of Sodom. Luke 17:29-29.

Christians will be taken away from the judgement and destruction of the tribulation when the rapture/resurrection occurs. We should comfort each other with those words.

Symbolism is not meant to be interpreted as literal.
To be honest it really doesn't matter if you see it as literal or symbolic....Jesus didn't leave with all the splendor described in the return in Rev 19

When you compare the two descriptions...as we should...we read where the angels say Jesus will return the same way Jesus left.

How is the description of the return the same as how Jesus left?

When Jesus left He didn't judge and wage war like the account presents it.
Acts 1 doesn't say His eyes were like blazing fire...literal or symbolic.
Acts 1 doesn't mention a name written on Jesus that only Jesus knows.
When Jesus ascended into heaven...was He wearing a robe dipped in blood?
I'll grant you Jesus name is the Word of God.
When Jesus ascended were there armies following Him like are described in Rev 19...literally or symbolically?

The answer....Jesus comes back (appears) at the rapture then 7 years later at the actual return where He stands on the Mt of Olives and it splits. Zech 14.

Dispensationalism does not recognize tribulation and persecution for what it is. Or God's wrath, as though it only ever shows up at one time and not until the last seven years.
The bible speaks of the 7 year tribulation or as some like to call it, time of Jacobs trouble.
That's not how I or others see it. I'll try to correct you concerning the pre-tribulation rapture view.

There will be bad times leading up to the rapture. Matt 24 speaks of it. Currently we are in the most heightened state of wars and rumor of wars that the people on the earth have ever seen. Earthquakes have increased....though there has been no "big one" recently. This progression of pre-trib tribulation will grow at an increasing pace....as Jesus said, this is the beginning of the birth pains.

So, as a christian...a pre-trib believe I expect trouble ahead for the christians. I see state run physical and financial persecution of Christians before the rapture. To what extent, I don't know.
As you asked.....Will they be tearing out their hair crying, "I was supposed to be out of here before this happened!....The answer is no.
Jesus has forwarded us....He also said.... but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Yes, I expect hard times before the rapture. Just how hard I don't know. I do know christians are not destined for the wrath of the tribulation. Why would Jesus let His bride enter into the judgement of the tribulation????

We should comfort each other with those words.

"They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace." Jeremiah 6:14

Jesus did promise us tribulation in this life. We will meet the Lord in the air at the judgement. Not before.

Yes I know He did....Don't confuse the tribulation of this life with the 7 year tribulation. Even the 7 year tribulation is broken down into the tribulation and the great tribulation.
Have you ever read Rev 13? I we look around we can see the beast system being build...as christians we will taste a little bit of it as the one world government, money system, religion, development of AI and quantum computers etc. is systematically revealed.

Have you ever read Rev 13? I we look around we can see the beast system being build.

It's always been here. It's this world system.

There's God's Kingdom and there's the beast or antichrist system. It's not new. It's very old. We live side by side, until the return of Christ, gathering as we go.

There's a time for everything.

If we look at the historical practice of victorious kings returning from battle, where elaborate celebrations occurred. The king in the lead, his armies behind him and the people rushing to meet him and following in victorious joy behind him though the streets.
To that I say...so what?
If we look at the historical practice of the Jews in the time of Jesus we see a parallel to a Jewish wedding and the events pertaining to Jesus.

In particular we read....in My Father's house there are many mansions. The Groom pays a dowry to the Father. (price Jesus paid on the cross) After the engagement (salvation) the groom leaves and goes to His Father house and builds a place to live. Jesus tells us..."And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am" (the resurrection/rapture)....whats next? The marriage supper of the Lamb. Where is the marriage supper of the lamb in your timeline?.

So, if you want to hang your hat on the historical practice of victorious kings returning from battle....go for it.
Then again when Jesus comes back (Rev 19) He's not returning from battle....Jesus is entering into battle. Personally I'll stick with the Jewish wedding practice.

What you just told me is those alive in Rev 13 have no worries.
Do you now that today...NOW...is the first time in human history that the beast system of Rev 13 could be established? Until recently we didn't have the technology.

In a sense you are right...the beast anti-christ system has always been here...but NEVER to the point of Rev 13.
The good news is if you're a christian Jesus will come back and "harpazó" you. Not only before the mark is required but also prior to the 4 horsemen.

What you just told me is those alive in Rev 13 have no worries. To

No, what I’m saying is this: be prepared to suffer—perhaps even to be slaughtered—not to cling to some hope of escaping “the worst of it.”

We are called to share in the sufferings of Christ, and that is no shame. That is honor. Whether it’s something that seems small to others—like walking seventy-five feet yesterday and sitting for forty-five minutes to be joined with the gathered body—or something far more weighty, like bearing reproach or persecution for Christ’s name, it is all the same in one respect: it is a gift to be united to Him in both life and death.

This is not pessimism—it’s realism shaped by resurrection hope. The Lamb who was slain has conquered, and those who follow Him do so under that same cross-shaped path. To die with Him is to live. That is what Revelation calls us to.

but NEVER to the point of Rev 13.

Since when has it not been to that point?

"Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them." (Revelation 13:7)

If you thought God was just waiting on technology, you're very mistaken. For nearly 2,000 years, people have been dying because they refused to bow to the systems of this world—the beast systems. No barcode, no microchip, no satellite was required for that. Just a choice between loyalty to Christ or compromise with the world.

We are sealed by God's Holy Spirit—but that’s not a physical mark, any more than the mark of the beast is. It’s about what rules your mind and governs your actions—what’s in your "forehead" and in your "hand."

That language is not new. It goes back to the Law of Moses:

"You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes." (Deuteronomy 6:8)

What does that mean? It means that God's commandments were meant to govern both thought (forehead) and action (hand). Revelation adopts the exact same imagery—but reverses it. Those who belong to Christ bear His law inwardly.

"I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts..." (Hebrews 8:10)

You won’t find a tiny tablet with the Ten Commandments engraved on your literal heart. But they’re there—spiritually impressed by the Spirit of God. And just as Christ’s own are sealed with His name on their foreheads (Revelation 14:1), the enemies of God are marked as well—with hearts and hands given over to another master.

Literalism often stumbles over apocalyptic symbolism. But Revelation speaks in images meant to reveal—not conceal. We’re called to wisdom, not sensationalism. The battle has always been real, and the mark has always been spiritual.

The good news is if you're a christian Jesus will come back and "harpazó" you. Not only before the mark is required but also prior to the 4 horsemen.

Have you not noticed the four horsemen yet? Really?

Welcome to war, famine, plague, and death. They've been galloping through history since the first century. You’re living in the reality Revelation has described all along—this is no dress rehearsal.

"So I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow..." (Revelation 6:2)
"Another horse, bright red... was permitted to take peace from the earth..." (Revelation 6:4)
"Behold, a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand..." (Revelation 6:5)
"And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider's name was Death..." (Revelation 6:8)

War is on. But here is the promise: God will not leave us helpless. He will make us warriors for His Kingdom, ambassadors in His stead, His witnesses in the fire.

"We are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us." (2 Corinthians 5:20)
"You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." (2 Timothy 2:3)

He will strengthen us in the hour of our trial, just as He has always done for His people.

"Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial..." (James 1:12)
"He who calls you is faithful; He will surely do it." (1 Thessalonians 5:24)

And when we pass through death from life to life, when glorification replaces groaning, and when we are fully and finally united with Him in glory—He will wipe away every tear.

"They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore... and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." (Revelation 7:16–17)
"And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more..." (Revelation 21:4)

The Spirit tells us: we have hope. Why? Because His promises are true.

But don’t be deceived—God has not promised to rescue us from tribulation, but through it.

"In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
"Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God." (Acts 14:22)

That is our blessed hope—not escape, but endurance unto eternal life.

So, according to you we are in the book of Revelation???? Yes? What chapter are we up to?

This is not pessimism—it’s realism shaped by resurrection hope.
