The Bible puts the Battle of Armageddon before the New Jerusalem comes down as Revelation is clear that is when the wicked meet their end in the Lake of Fire. So this can only be at the Second Coming, and you can see it is when the Seven Last Plagues fall from the description in Revelation, and they will come one after another which I think corresponds to the one hour (2 weeks prophetic time) the nations get with the Beast.

Revelation 17:12
And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Revelation 18:10
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

Revelation 18:17
For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

Revelation 18:19
And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

Revelation 16:1-21
1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Here is a good description..

"Armageddon Meaning
The actual word for “Armageddon” only appears once in the Bible (Revelation 16:16). Even though most of the New Testament is written in Greek, this comes from the Hebrew word which means, “Mount Megiddo", which may be the same with Har-megiddo; for the Hebrew word (rh) is read "Ar" by the Greeks; so the city Argarize is interpreted the mountain of the most High.

What Is the Battle of Armageddon?

Revelation 16:16 - ""Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon." - describes what happens after God pours out the sixth bowl of wrath (one of the many plagues that permeates the Revelation narrative).

In this verse, John, the author of Revelation, writes about the gathering of earthly rulers and armies to a place called Armageddon. The word "Armageddon" is derived from the Hebrew "Har-Megiddo," and it is generally understood to be a symbolic location for a final, climactic battle.

The Battle of Armageddon is described in more detail in Revelation 19:11-21 (NIV), where it portrays a dramatic confrontation between the forces of good, led by Jesus Christ (the rider on a white horse), and the forces of evil, symbolically represented by the beast and the false prophet. The antichrist gathers “kings” in a placed called Armageddon. These kings, loyal to the antichrist, will gather their armies to wage war against the people of God. This battle results in the defeat of the enemies of God and the ultimate triumph of righteousness.

We see hints of this war in Revelation 16:14 and in Revelation 20:7-9, where Satan gathers enemies from the four corners of the earth (in essence, everywhere). They’ll surround the camp of the Christians, but fire from heaven will consume them."

A battle is never said in scripture to take place at the Armageddon site. That place was only a staging ground where troops involved were assembled. From there, they "went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city..."

This assembling of troops was not going to be in a symbolic location. It was a literal location on Israel's map. Ptolemais just above Mount Carmel on the coast of Israel was where the emperor Vespasian landed with the Roman legions, in preparation for the Galilean campaign against Judea beginning in AD 67. Ptolemais on the coast is right there facing the "Mount of Megiddo" location. This was where Vespasian's Roman troops were gathered together in order to spread out over the "breadth of the earth" in Israel; conquering cities in the north of Israel, and eventually making their way to the "beloved city" Jerusalem in the spring of AD 70.

Armageddon is not a future threat for us. It was fulfilled long ago in the Jewish / Roman war period.

We see hints of this war in Revelation 16:14 and in Revelation 20:7-9, where Satan gathers enemies from the four corners of the earth (in essence, everywhere)
The "four corners of the earth" is the four corners of the land of Israel - not the entire globe. Scripture in several places refers to Israel in this way. As in Ezekiel 7:2-3 when the nation was conquered by the Babylonians. "Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land. Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee..."

The combatants for this Revelation 16 and 20 battle were first gathered together in the north part of Judea at Megiddo, and by the close of AD 70 had spread out over all the four corners of the land of Judea, conquering and subduing its cities until they had circled around to Jerusalem as the final target where all the refugees had fled for protection - in vain as it turned out.

Today’s “prophets” of Armageddon claim that this battle will be a physical future conflict—fresh-and-blood against flesh-and-blood—and that hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions, will be doing battle upon the hill Megiddo—“Armageddon”—a famous spot in Hebrew history. King Josiah was slain upon this hill (2 Kings 23:29-30).

If a renowned historian’s account can be admitted as evidence, “The Battle of Armageddon” is history. Too, the hill Megiddo, along with the surrounding valley, is not large enough to accommodate millions of combatants in a future, literal conflict. But assuming the Battle is not history, we would be compelled to understand it as a moral and spiritual conflict, which has been waged since the Christian movement began.

I’m inclined to believe it’s a spiritual conflict, although there is strong evidence the Battle was literally fought when the Roman army surrounded and destroyed Jerusalem in 67-70 A. D. “Armageddon” points to a great battle. This we do not deny. The term, along with the context of Revelation 16, seems to indicate a spiritual warfare, as opposed to a flesh-and-blood warfare. Even the apostle Paul stated that we’re not involved in a physical warfare, but in a spiritual combat. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood...but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Eph. 6:12).

Our struggle is with king Satan. The children of King Jesus have been struggling with the forces of king Satan since the very inception of the new covenant. I see this conflict, “Armageddon,” as a spiritual engagement between the children of King Jesus and the children of king Satan. This battle is likely to intensify as the end of all things draws near. During the first three centuries of the Christian movement, hundreds of thousands of believers fought against Satan and were slaughtered. They became martyrs for Jesus. And even today in many foreign countries, Satan is waging war against God’s army. Many thousands are being persecuted to death. Surely this is—figuratively speaking—a “Battle of Armageddon.”

The symbolic vs. the literal: If the “Battle of Armageddon” is to be understood literally as a future conflict, what about “spirits that looked like frogs” and “came out of the mouth of the dragon” (v. 13)? Is John speaking literally and naturally? And what about the hundred-pound hail stones (v.21)? See where I’m coming from? It’s so easy to pick-and-choose what is normal language and what is symbolic language. In choosing, however, let’s use a little common, ordinary sense. If we have a sensational doctrine to get people all emotionally worked-up about, we will view almost everything from a literal, normal perspective.

Example: If I wanted to convince people there were animal kings who ruled 2000 years ago, all I’d need do is turn to Jesus’ statement where he called King Herod a fox (Luke 13:31-32). There! I’ve proven my point. Herod was a literal, normal, fox—a four-legged animal. Just so with many prophetic interpreters and their “take it literally or don’t take it at all.”

These prophetic interpreters will turn to the Books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah, and Revelation, large portions of which are highly symbolic, and they see the leopard lying down with the goat, the cow feeding with the bear, the wolf and the lamb cohabiting, the lion eating straw like an ox, and a young child putting his hand into the viper’s nest without danger (Isa. 11).

These “prophets” interpret all these things literally. They fail to discern that the exquisite imagery of Isaiah typifies the Messiah’s government in this age, just as Isaiah 53 typifies the Lamb of God who was smitten for our transgressions. The Lord is saying through the prophet, in chapter 11, that an age is coming (and now exists) when there will be great peace and happiness in the new kingdom or reign, and it will be like a cow feeding with a bear or a wolf that lives with the lamb. Four-footed animals and their environments are not what Isaiah is talking about. He is addressing the peace and serenity that will reign in the hearts of God’s children in the redeemed society, the era of grace. That time is now, and has been for 2000 years.

You and I are part of the age Isaiah foretold! Jesus has brought us peace, serenity, deliverance, salvation, and hope. Ours is an age of all ages—an age of which all the old prophets predicted but couldn’t understand. It was to be an age of rescue—an age the angels longed to look into but were not permitted. We have been granted the privilege of being participants in that age or reign. It is now, not tomorrow, at this moment, not when King Jesus “sits upon His earthly throne in Jerusalem,” as the doctrine goes. He is seated, at this moment, upon His throne, at the right hand of God (Acts 2:33), and He reigns over his subjects—you and me! Praise His name!

So, yes, the “Battle of Armageddon,” or the battle between believers and the forces of evil, is in full force. At this moment, we’re battling Satan head-on. The battle will not end until our King returns and puts an end to all evil, at which time we will be transported to an extension of our golden age—heaven itself.

It's absolutely true that we are not waiting for this reign of Jesus to commence. In that we are in agreement. Isaiah did indeed foretell the ages concerning the NHNE conditions which we currently enjoy today under the New Covenant with the spiritual New Jerusalem established.
Here is where our views diverge. Christ has already disposed of Satan and his minions in the AD 70 Lake of Fire in Jerusalem. Every unclean spirit in existence was imprisoned in that single city during that time (Revelation 18:2 and Isaiah 24:21-23). "After many days" of that Jerusalem imprisonment, these unclean spirits were all disposed of, including Satan whom God slew so that he would no more exist. The Roman believers were given a promise of this in Romans 16:20; that God would crush Satan under their feet "shortly". This was when Satan's "short time" of operations on earth would be done with.

What remains on earth today since AD 70 are the spirits of wicked humanity producing evil out of their own hearts and persecuting the saints. These need no demonic assistance to perform wicked actions all on their own volition. The battle with the demonic and Satanic forces was in full swing during the years immediately following Christ's ascension, concerning which you have quoted verses above. But that battle with the Satanic realm is long past by now since God rid this planet of their presence long go. What remains now is human evil, which will also be finally and totally eradicated from this planet at the final judgment.

The Bible puts the Battle of Armageddon before the New Jerusalem comes down as Revelation is clear...................
The actual word for “Armageddon” only appears once in the Bible (Revelation 16:16)..........................
Do you think it is functional and wise to create a doctrine from a single mention in a single verse in a single chapter in a single book when nowhere else in the entire Bible is the term mentioned?

Do you think it best to define a doctrine based on a a single mention in a single verse in a single chapter in a single book that is frequently symbolic, and to do so in neglect of the more concreate alternatives elsewhere in the Bible?

Do you think functional and wise to use biased extra-biblical sources over proper exegesis of scripture? If so, then do you think extra-biblical sources that proof-text scripture and copy-and-paste those proof-texts into Revelation are the kind of extra-biblical sources that should be used?

Direct, succinct answers will be appreciated. A simple, "yes," or "no," to each question will suffice.

Very true as the battle is between God and the nations of the earth, so it will be at the Second Coming that we see this great battle. Satan attempts to unite all nations at war against God so it will be everything they have against Him but they will fail and Christ will then take His saints to heaven and leave the wicked slain.

Well, it will be at the Second Coming, and Christ takes the saints to heaven for the 1000 years and then the New Jerusalem comes down with the saints. So the timeline is..

1. Where We Are Today: - We are in the year 2023, and you can see the image of the Beast rising with the New World Order, and you can see its power being realized.

2. The Three Angel's Messages Proclaimed to the World: - Before anyone chooses for or against the mark of the beast, God, through His remnant church on earth will send a final message to the world. This message contained in the three angel's messages of Revelation 14 is God's last call of mercy to the world.

Revelation 14:6-12 ...'And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

... And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

... And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.'

3. The Final Choice for the Seal or Mark: - In this end times timeline of final events, this is the most important for every man, woman and child on earth. We will all at this time have to make one final choice. A choice to take the side of Christ Jesus and receive the seal of God (Revelation 7:1-3; 14:1) or, under ecomonic pressure and fear of persecution from the world, take the mark of the beast (Revelation 13:16).

4. Probation Closed: - Once everyone have made their decision for the mark of the beast or the seal of God, then the door of mercy will close and everyone will be judged either righteous or filthy ... Revelation 22:11 ...'He that is unjust, let him be unjust still, and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still, and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still, and he that is holy, let him be holy still.' ...
Who will receive your allegiance? The beast system (Papacy), or our Heavenly Father?

5. A Time of Trouble for the World: - This time of trouble, the great tribulation is prophesied in Daniel 12:1 ... 'And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people, and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time, and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.' ...

6. The Seven Last Plagues: - Now that everyone has decided to side with Jesus or the beast, God's final judgments can begin to fall upon this world, in the form of the seven last plagues. These plagues will be the "wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture." as mentioned in Revelation 14:10.

7. The Battle of Armageddon: - This is the final world battle will happen when Jesus Christ returns as "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" to defeat Satan and his hosts and to deliver the saints......

....

8. The Second Coming of Christ Jesus: - This is THE END TIME EVENT that all the saints will be watching and waiting for. The second coming of Christ will be a glorious, visible, fiery event that will make all other end time events look ordinary! Accompanied by billions of mighty angels, Jesus will return in great glory to deliver His people. There will be no rapture like so many believe, as the Bible clearly states that EVERY EYE will see Jesus return, and that His second coming will be a noisy, fiery event (Matthew 24:27; 1 Thess. 4:16-17; Matthew 24:30-31; Revelation 1:7; 2 Peter 3:10).

9. The Resurrection of the Saints and the 144,000 living Saints: - When Jesus Christ returns at the second coming, the graves will burst open and the righteous will rise up with immortal bodies. And together with the saints who have gone through the great tribulation and are still alive, will meet Jesus in the air ... 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 ...' For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.' ... The rest of the dead (lost) will not live again until the 1000 years are over ... Revelation 20:5 ...'But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.'

10. The 1000 Year Millennium: - After Christ has returned at the second coming and resurrects the saints, He takes us home to the Heavenly Kingdom and the New Jerusalem, and there we dwell for 1000 years, while Satan is bound to this desolate earth with no one to tempt, as all the wicked were killed at the second coming. Contrary to popular belief, we DO NOT spend the 1000 years on earth.

11. The Wicked Destroyed: - After the 1000 years in Heaven, we return to this earth in the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:2). The wicked are resurrected and Satan gathers them together to fight and take the New Jerusalem ... Revelation 20:9-10 ...'And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.' ... So the wicked are thrown into the lake of fire, where they are consumed and cease to exist, again contrary to popular belief. Even Satan himself is finally destroyed and will cease to exist.

12. New Jerusalem coming down from heaven: - The saints come down with Christ in the New Jerusalem.
Revelation 21:1-3 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. ...

Here is a good site to check the sequence of events and biblical timeline....The Biblical Timeline

Very true as the battle is between God and the nations of the earth, so it will be at the Second Coming that we see this great battle. Satan attempts to unite all nations at war against God so it will be everything they have against Him but they will fail and Christ will then take His saints to heaven and leave the wicked slain.
This is all past history, since Christ promised that some of those standing in front of Him during His earthly ministry would not have died before His second coming (Matthew 16:27-28). Satan was slain by God after his "short time" and "little season" of deceiving the nations, and Christ took His resurrected saints to heaven and left the wicked to be slain.

That is a misapplication of that scripture. This appears to be the Mt of transfiguration where some who stood there witnessed it and hadn't dis yet. Peter tells of this in 2 Peter 1:16...16 For we did not follow cleverly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

They got this one wrong...as the resurrection is pre-tribulation and the 1000 years is a literal reign on earth.

No, it is certainly NOT the Mount of Transfiguration being described in Matthew 16:27-28. Christ did not "return" on that occasion because He had never left yet. Also, He did not return with angels on that occasion, and give rewards to every man according to his works, as the context describes. The Mount of Transfiguration interpretation for this Matthew 16:27-28 text is a desperate attempt to avoid the plain meaning given there. Some of those Christ spoke to during His ministry lived until the time of Christ's second coming in the glory of His Father to judge the living and the dead in their lifetime.

2 Peter 1:16 was Peter describing when Christ "came unto His own" at Christ's baptism. Peter was recounting the glorious manifestation of the Spirit descending as a dove upon Christ, and the voice from heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." That same voice at Christ's baptism the disciples heard again at the Mount of Transfiguration, saying virtually the same thing.

No, it is certainly NOT the Mount of Transfiguration
It certainly wasn't during the time of the destruction of the temple.

Christ comes in the clouds at the rapture....and then sets foot on the earth about 7 years later at the second coming.
What you sre describing is a cleverly devised fable. Those on the Mt. saw the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. Peter wrote that he saw the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I already gave you the biblical test.

No, those on the Mount of Transfiguration did not see the Lord "coming" in His kingdom with the holy angels and dispensing rewards at the judgment of the dead. The Mount of Transfiguration was a conversation with Moses and Elijah concerning the death which Christ was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

The quote which Peter used in 2 Peter 1:16 was exactly what God's voice said at Christ's baptism: namely, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17). The "coming" which Peter referred to in 2 Peter 1:16 was when Christ "came unto His own" as the Son of God - a glorious manifestation of the Trinity at Christ's baptism which proved to John that this was the Messiah they had been waiting for. The Holy Spirit descending upon Christ and remaining on Him at His baptism empowered Him for His coming public ministry. This baptism event was the "power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" which Peter was speaking of - His first coming.

Tell that to Peter. Perhaps you don't understand the verse.

Keep in mind no one saw Christ coming at the destruction of the temple timeframe...because Jesus didn't come then.

I do understand 2 Peter 1:16. Read the quote again for yourself of what Peter said they heard connected with the power and coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." PERIOD. End of sentence in 2 Peter 1:16. This is the exact same quote the disciples heard at Christ's baptism at the Messiah's empowered first coming to His own people: namely, "And lo a voice from heaven saying, 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased'." PERIOD. End of sentence in Matthew 3:17. This was the "power and coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, gloriously manifesting the Trinity at His baptism. The Holy Spirit remained upon Christ Jesus as a visible sign to John that this was the Messiah that was prophesied to come to Israel.

Now, this is the same voice which the disciples heard again later on the Mount of Transfiguration, as Peter testified in 2 Peter 1:16. It's NOT quite the same quote. "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; HEAR YE HIM." (Matthew 17:5). Can you tell the difference here? If 2 Peter 1:16 was quoting the Mount of Transfiguration quote, he would have included this last phrase "HEAR YE HIM". But Peter didn't include this. That is because 2 Peter 1:16 was quoting the voice from heaven at Christ's baptism at His first coming - not at the Mount of Transfiguration.

You are confusing the first coming of the Messiah for His second coming, which James 5:8 said had drawn near in his days. "Be ye patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord has drawn near." Jesus did indeed come then for the second time in that generation, just as He had promised several times that He would come again before that generation He ministered to had passed away. Those who pierced Him mourned at seeing that second coming return from their besieged position inside Jerusalem in AD 70, as prophesied by Zechariah 12:10 and repeated by John in Revelation 1:7.

The word "Armageddon" is derived from the Hebrew "Har-Megiddo," and it is generally understood to be a symbolic location for a final, climactic battle
From a Amil perspective.(signified a figure of speech) "Thousand years" a unknown.

No literal sign in Mathew 24 were given to the last day.God does not exact day as those of the lietal number The Christin the golden measure of faith (a un know hidden like hidden manna

Jesus said its natural man that seeks after a sign to wonder after.Believers have prophecy The last days signified by the 7th angel (message) in Revelation 11 the 7th trump the walls came down

Revelation 11:15 ESV Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”

I would add the highmountain in that parable as figure of speech signifies as a shadow the kingdoms of this world or sects denominations.

As informed in Revelation 11. . the new heavens and earth they altogether will be his one united Christian kingdom .The eternal represented by the earthly temporal. comparing the temporal to the eternal not seen

In know it not popular offering because of this or that but does seem to ring true .It would sem it's all but been lost with what I call the reforming authority of the reformation, as it is writen in the law and prophets (sola scriptura) Today most would think of the 15th century reformation.

.But when viewing the first century reformation (Hebrew 9) it become clear the same spirit as the 15th a carbon copy . . commandments as laws of men using oral tradition to try make all things written in the the law and prophets (sola scriptura) without efect.

The law of the Pharisees with Sadducees .non converted mankind . the abomination of desolation human form in the place of the unseen Holy Father, as King of dying earthly king .

God had gave over the atheist jew in 1 Samael 8. They as called fools had become jealous of all the surrounding Pagan nations philosophy (out of sight out of mind) thay refuse to worship a King kings not seen God .God gave them over to Paganism until the time of 1st century reformation

1 Samuel 8: 7-9 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

Mark 13:14But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (human element) (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:(same mountain below Mathew 24)

When Jesus in Mathew walked out of the temple made with human had He declared the abomination of desolation (kings in Israel) saying it is desolate not will be . walking out the apostles who walked by sight must of thought Jesus had his eyes closed they wanted him to take a second peek. . . in the twinkling of the eye on the high mountain to represent all the kingdoms of the world

Mathew 23:38-39 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Mathew 24:1-3 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

No sign was given but the sign of the times history repeating its because of moral issues Again he called them a evil faithless generation. . thier focus should be prophecy (sola scriptura) not signs.

Jesus did indeed come then for the second time in that generation
No where in the bible does it say Jesus came in that generation. The bible describes the rapture as well as the second coming and no where in history is that reflected.

Greetings Hobie,
The Bible puts the Battle of Armageddon before the New Jerusalem comes down as Revelation is clear that is when the wicked meet their end in the Lake of Fire. So this can only be at the Second Coming, and you can see it is when the Seven Last Plagues fall from the description in Revelation, and they will come one after another which I think corresponds to the one hour (2 weeks prophetic time) the nations get with the Beast.
I was interested in your perspective on the Battle of Armageddon, but I have a different understanding on many aspects. I have the view that the Seals, Trumpets and Vials are sequential, and we are already in the Vials period which started with the French Revolution and continues until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. I consider that we are in the 6th Vial period already.
Revelation 16:12–16 (KJV): 12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
There are a number of stages mentioned above:
1. "the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up"
I consider that the drying up of "the great river Euphrates" represents the drying up of the Ottoman Empire, and the most significant event was when they were pushed out of the Holy Land in 1917, and this opened the way for the return of the Jews, and the ultimate establishment of the Nation of Israel in 1948.
2. It speaks of three centres, or three world powers "The Dragon", "The Beast" and "The False Prophet". I consider that although these Powers exist today the full development of what is stated here has not yet happened, but world events are strongly proceeding in that direction and could happen soon, especially as a result of the present Middle East conflict that will realign some of these Powers.
3. Verse 15 speaks of the return of Jesus to the household of faith.
4. Jesus then gathers the nations to the Battle of Armageddon.

You seem to link the Battle of Armageddon with the events of Revelation 17. I consider Revelation 17 depicts events AFTER the Battle of Armageddon.

Kind regards
Trevor
