Spirit and Bride say "Come"

Who are the Spirit and Bride talking to?
I think it refers to the gospel being preached during the time before Jesus returns.

Who are the Spirit and Bride talking to?
Well, from the context of the words, I would say they are talking to Jesus Christ:

“16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely." 20 “He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (Re 22:16-17, 20 NKJV)

The bride is Christ's church, who should be longing for His Second Coming.

.
It appears to me from the context of Rev 22:16-17 that "come" is intended for the
ears of rank and file pew warmers; which makes sense to me seeing as how quite a
number of the folks attending church Sunday morning are there only because it
caps their week and/or rounds out their social resumé.

They say charity begins at home. Well; in my experienced opinion, evangelism
ought to begin in church, viz: every pastor would be smart to preach to his
congregation as if it were a mission field because that's really what a lot of them
are.

* I once heard an old retired preacher say that if the rapture took place this Saturday,
a pretty good number of churches wouldn't be missing a single member Sunday morning.

But verse 20 (which is part of the same passage):

“He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

Who are the Spirit and Bride talking to?

I would offer. .

More of talking about.

The Spirit of Christ the husband coming with His Bride the church. The wedding super in the new order . The vail lifted.

Greetings David Lamb...

I would agree with you...this makes a strong case for the Body being active on the earth until He removes the veil between the visible and invisible...and Christ is revealed as He is.

Tatwo...:)

.
Rev 22:17 . . And the Spirit and the bride say come. And let him that heareth
say come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the
water of life freely.

That passage is an invitation to thirsty folks to come and drink a beverage called
the water of life. Well; I honestly cannot imagine how that would extend to
Christ seeing as how he is a God-given source of a water very similar to it.

John 4:10-14 . . If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a
drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. Sir--
the woman said --you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can
you get this living water? Jesus answered: Everyone who drinks this water will be
thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the
water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

I also question whether the Spirit would extend that invitation to Christ seeing as he
is not only a God-given source of living water, but also a source of the Spirit.

John 7:37-39 . . On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in
a loud voice: If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes
in me, as the scripture has said, "streams of living water will flow from within him."
By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.

NOTE: The invitation speaks of "him that heareth" which is very likely a reference to
folks who've been blessed with spiritual ears because the ability to read a Bible and
remember stuff is not the same thing.

So; how might an interested party go about obtaining the water of life? Well I
recommend RSVP. Find a quiet place, cover your face with your hands, and in
your own words-- out loud or under your breath --simply speak up and tell God
you would like to have the water of life you saw offered in the book of Revelation.

Here's a question that not even God can answer.

Heb 2:1-3 . .We must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we
drift away from it. For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and
every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense, how shall we
escape if we neglect so great a salvation?

The Greek word translated "neglect" basically means to ignore, disregard, set aside,
to make light of, viz: assign a low priority.

I watched an interesting lecture on YouTube recently during which the speaker
asked, in so many words: What do a great number of folks in Hell have in common
other than their circumstances? The answer given was stupidity, and I think I have
to agree.

Jesus told a parable about some folks who were adequately catechized but let day
to day concerns distract them from taking action on the information they were
given. In other words they procrastinated; probably intending to getting around
some day to thinking about their afterlife prospects.

He told another parable wherein a number of folks invited to a wedding found a
variety of excuses not to attend. The host was wroth and banned the original
guests so that even if they changed their minds about attending, they would not be
allowed.

Well; I think the Bible is telling us that Heaven has little patience with things like
neglect, indifference, and procrastination. It says, in so many words: If you hear
the message, don't delay to respond because now is your time, today is your
opportunity for salvation.

The message, it its basic form, is very simple.

Heb 2:9 . .We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the
suffering of death, that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Isa 53:6 . . All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his
own way; and The Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

The only thing those dummies in Hell had to do to avoid that awful place was RSVP
God with a simple prayer in their own words that goes like this:

"Lord, I know I'm a sinner. I would like to take advantage of your son's death to
protect myself from retribution."

Those twenty-one words would've made a tremendous difference in their afterlife
situation but no, they let the opportunity to make peace with God slip thru their
fingers.

Heb 12:25-26 . . See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. If they did not
escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we,
if we turn away from Him who warns us from heaven?

It is not that God doesn't have the knowledge to answer the question. Surely the point is, the question is rhetorical - it doesn't require or even expect an answer. We cannot escape if we neglect so great a salvation.

God is not served by the peanut galley dying flesh and blood. He has no need but stratifies every one of his own desire . "Let the be"

No such thing a "hell" sufferings after one takes the last breath .Simply a lying wonder that men wonder after as if it was true prophecy

Same with the fake word angel ( sent messenger) apostles.

No reason to believe in disembodied workers with a familiar spirit gods.

Christ is us not a legion of disembodied workers with a familiar spirit gods . ...anti-christs (legion) another teaching authroity other than sola scriptura. Teaching oral tradition of dying mankind (false prophecy )

Like Patron saints are used as if there was another creation.

No extra invisible creation as part of the gospel message .

One Spirit the Holy Spirt of Christ, the husband

No such thing as hell? Jesus says there is. And what does, "Christ is us not a legion of disembodied workers with a familiar spirit gods" mean? Christ certainly isn't us!

Yes God is not a man as us . (Blasphemy)

No, not hell (purgatory sufferings after ) in the way many use as if we are to be judged again.

Death, dying mankind carrying out the wage of sin. . . daily sufferings .Yoked with Christ the burden can be lighter .

The Bible defines the word hell as sufferings .Not as the Roman Catholic, East Orthodox like that of Pharisee with Sadaucesss . .Limbo, keep purging . . . keep wondering doctrine?

Jonah 2:2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Three times God answered prayer of Jonah and Jesus in the garden .God does not speak to the dead (patron saints)the voice of the father of lies .

Three times in the garden the beginning of the sufferings the father struck the Son bruising his heal. The Son of man Jesus suffered and cried out for strength three times . Both came to the end of thier new born again faith (God's understanding given freely to us as it is written .

Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

The death of the instrument of death (the letter.) It will be cast into the judgment fire.

Death the letter of the law (thou shalt not) or you are dead in dying.

Death causing daily suffering it will not rise up in the new incorruptible heavens and earth .The previous suffering the wage of sin will not be remembered or ever come to mind

No double jeapordy retrial

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Death of death

The worker with familiar spirit gods are called patron saints today (his and hers gods 3500 and rising )

In that way the first commandment, have no other gods before our one Holy Father is violated .Sons of God Christians serve one invisible Spirit ,.No gods as spirits before our Holy Father

Necromancy. The living seeking the dead familiar (family ) spirits.

King Josiah accredited as the greatest king. . moved by the living words of a book (sola scriptura) empowering him to put way the legion of gods that some have before our living and Faithful. God . .

2 Kings 23:23-25King James Version23 But in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, wherein this passover was holden to the Lord in Jerusalem.
Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord. And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.

Believers sons of God are empowered as it is written to serve one invisible Spirit the Holy Father of all spirit life .The legion of gods the , father of lies has been cast out

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

No other gods to include ones own self first and foremost.

I don't believe in Purgatory. The hell of the bible is eternal punishment. The Roman Catholic Purgatory is supposedly a temporary place where saved sinners (according to Roman Catholics) go on death to be "purged" from their remaining sins.

Hell suffering daily carrying out the wage of sin. No sufferings after taking ones last breath

No such thing a limbo for the younger sinner and purgatory for the more mature sinner. A lying sign that some wonder, wonder. wonder after as if true prohecy

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Yes he has conquered death .Its our daily sufferings we experience the continuing wage until one takes their last breath .

Yoked with Christ suffering is made lighter as he suffers with us.

In that way we have no power of our own self.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
