Politicians are heading that way, too, with political correctness, intimidation and gaslighting about the ignorance of the non-elites.

Politicians run a con game too. They are legal counterfeiters. To get elected they promise the electorate lots of 'goodies' and to pay for it the go to the un-audited federal reserve run by secret bankers to print money. Then they make up all sorts of reasons for inflation where inflation is the devious way they tax the people. Eventually, all fiat currencies eventually become worthless.

How would we know whether something someone says be true or not?

I would think consider the source of faith (Let there be power) 2 possibilities.

(#1) As it is written (Sola Scriptura) all things written in the law and prophets or (#2) lying signs as wonders to wonder ,wonder after in doubt.as if true prophecy (sola scriptura)
