12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. ESV
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: KJV

How have we been qualified?

Ephesians 2:10 is one answer.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Hebrews 6:4 is another.

Hebrews 6:4-6
For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

And still another...

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

...because if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.

I think 2 Cor 5:21 shines a light on the answer.... "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

Our sins are imputed to Christ Jesus and His righteousnes is imputed to us. Because we have Christ righteousness we are qualified.
