What will we take to heaven....?

... and Isaiah 65:17 “Behold, I am creating new heavens and a new earth; And the former things [of life] will not be remembered or come to mind.
Everything we own, when we die, will either burn off on the way down or fall off on the way up. haha, had to throw that in there.

But really, consider the parable \about the rich man and Lazarus.

Consider the transfiguration on a mountaintop in front of his disciples, Peter, James, and John. The appearance of Moses and Elijah.

When Jesus rose, and told Thomas to touch him.

We must read Isaiah 65 in context

And others.

Re: Isaiah 65:17 “Behold, I am creating new heavens and a new earth; And the former things [of life] will not be remembered or come to mind. My contention is that we won't know anything about our earthly life.

Well, parables are difficult to be understand in regards to what point they are trying to make. But if this parable is literally true then we will be able to talk to people we knew that are in hell and this is doubtful in my opinion. I grant that the parable might favor your argument.

A couple issues with this. First of all it does not fit the scenario we are discussing because those disciples have not died and gone to heaven which is a premise of my contention. Also, those disciples never met Moses and Elijah so there is no "former things to come to mind" which is another premise of my statement.

Agreed.

This verse also supports my contention to some degree IMO.
Rev. 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
I grant I am not overwhelmingly confident that I'm correct. Just an idea I ponder.

Good points.

Good points.
Well, if I'm correct I won't be able to say "I told you so". On the other hand, if you're right you could say: "I told you so". So, from the view point you are one up on me. :)

Well then, I hope I'm right. :)
