Amen! The word of God has blessed and helped me so many times! I came from a family of anti-Christians but amazingly God spared me from that path.

I am without transportation and want fellowship online with like-minded Christians. God rescued me from false teachings.

Welcome and it's awesome to have you here.

We have a study group going that has only recently started; we are reading through Calvin's Institutes in a year - there are free resources so you can participate. (I have to go the free route.. lol)

Despite the inability to attend church at the moment do you have a church? What denomination do you belong to?

I am a widow. My husband wouldn't discuss the Bible with me, but was anti-Calvinist as far as I could tell. I am sort of Baptist. I have attended many, many churches in the past.

I'm sorry about the loss of your husband, that's always tough.

it's good you're having the opportunity to explore your faith on your own and have the desire to do so.

Look around and participate anywhere you like.. it's a nice crowd here, I'm sure you'll fit in fine.

Welcome once more. :)

Welcome to the forum dear Rescued One!

The idea of the work of Christ being a rescue from the kingdom of darkness as per Col 1:13-14, is a favorite of mine. Voddie Baucham has a wonderful teaching called The Rescuer. I will post it in the video section.

My husband enjoyed small talk, which isn't one of my talents, but he wasn't exactly tolerant of people who disagreed with him (on many subjects). That's okay. We didn't argue or discuss the Bible. Thank you for the sympathy; he passed away 12 years ago. This has given me free time to study God's word.

I could benefit from a link.

I found it and I sobbed! Then to my amazement: Ligonier Ministries (one of my favorites). Thank you so much.

Welcome, @Rescued One. It's nice to have you here. I hope you enjoy the forum.

Blessings
I'm sure it's going to be a blessing. I personally don't like arguments such as I've encountered on other forums. I might make a comment and non-Calvinists confront my beliefs. It gets old. I don't generally discuss Arminianism but think I'm presenting a biblical view and the other person jumps in and disagrees. And I'm left wondering "Why?"

Here at CCAM we have a goal of glorifying God. If you have read through our rules you will see that they are designed to keep that arguing at a minimum. To keep threads on track. Keep the conversations civil and edifying. It is not always possible to do, and when we do give grace for a time in hopes that God will do a work in the person to open eyes and soften hearts, to hear and understand. Plus we can't be everywhere all the time and no staff is always here. If you run into things that you find to be rules violations or that are argumentative, provoking argument, avoiding the issues, etc. hit that report button. We will deal with it. And of course, You are always welcome to begin a private message with any or all of staff.

Post whatever you feel is needed or that you see. We love different perspectives here! It is amazing that truth can hold steady and true and yet be seen from many perspectives and contain many and unfathomable depths. That is why God is his multifaceted wisdom designed the body of Christ so that every member serves a purpose and every member adds to the knowledge of God with what has been shown to them, and every person is necessary, IMO.

Another one of my shortcomings is that I never learned to type. I apologize for multiple typos.
