@Rescued One
What I am about to say is true for everyone who is in Christ through faith. Rescued, I am tagging you because of your statement in another thread that if you are lonely, then God intended you to be lonely. And that you have no one but the internet to discuss the things of God with. I applaud both your desire to discuss the things of God and your recognition of having been rescued by God, and your willingness to submit to his will no matter what the circumstances. And I understand loneliness. I am alone, but most of the time not lonely. At times I am overwhelmed by loneliness and turn to God with an "Abba, Father!" The cry of a child to a loving father, "Father, help!" And he does.
So, I write this to you for the encouragement from the body of Christ for one another that we are meant to be. If not us---who? This is where you are.
Those in Christ are holy. You are holy positionally before God by virtue of being united to the Holy through regeneration and faith, and for his glory. Your very existence in Christ glorifies him.
Heb 3:1 The author calls believers holy. Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling...
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession..
Eph 1:4 Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.
It is an astonishing thing that the Holy would, in Christ and only in him, count us as holy, precious and pure, his own possession. Made holy through Christ's sacrifice. Declared holy (justified) and being made holy(sanctified). Not based on performance but on our position in Christ.
You have a purpose in God's redemptive work that he has pre-planned before creation for you to fulfill. And it will be fulfilled, no matter your circumstances, or what it looks like to you, and even if you cannot see your purpose or never know what it is. He is bringing it to pass through your circumstances. And he is the one who carries you through them. And remember 24 hrs a day, whether you are asleep or awake, by virtue of having been rescued, snatched out of the kingdom of darkness and brought into the kingdom of the Son he loves, you display his glory. That alone is enough!
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Romans 8:28-30 ANd we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son...
2 Tim 1:9 {He} saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
There has never been a time, and never will be a time when God's purposes are not fulfilled. They cannot be thwarted.
Blessings, and may the peace of God be upon you. He surrounds you like the hills surround Jerusalem.
