Here's a very interesting (and timely) 2-part teaching series by Dr. R C Sproul concerning the history of the Reformation, of Martin Luther, and it even includes a bit of history concerning All Hallows' Eve or Halloween (which is celebrated on the same day as Reformation Day is, October 31st).

So, here you go. Enjoy
:) (both parts of this teaching series are just over 20 minutes long each, just FYI)

God bless you!!

Romans 1
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”

I can recall a time, many years ago, when evangelicals taught it was wrong to associate in any way with Halloween. I do not recall any mention of All Hallows' Een or the Christian thought an/or doctrine prompting the practice. Nowadays, I cannot think of an occasion when I have heard any of those teachers express repentance (or penance) for the bad teaching (or propagating fodder for their theological progeny), although I do not some who have corrected their teaching.

The Sproul lectures, btw, are good. Thank you for posting the links. There's some nice detail in them. One of the secrets of the RCC is that a number of men (and to a lesser degree women) with same-sex attraction have found a place of refuge in the celibate priesthood. It's a very small portion of all priests, but still a reality of their priesthood (and nunnery). For a broader overview of the Reformation I recommend Ryan Reeves' videos, too.

So whatyall think? At 65, am I too old to get dressed up and go out and mock the bad guys? I promise to give all the candy to the kids ;).
