As I interact with members here, I usually take it for granted I am interacting with other born-again Christians until evidence in their comments leads me to consider whether or not I am doing so. Whether in person or through the internet I am called to "test the spirits whether they are of God" (1 John 4:1) as I am very careful to call anyone "brother/brethren" to make sure we have the same Father. And if we do have the same Father [God] we both, as well as others I interact with as Christians are to exhibit the characteristics of our Father and be honest and truthful as God is honest and truthful and to speak the truth as God has given us the sight and mind to see the truth. This means when we open our mouths (or our keyboard) and testify and give witness about God and this "so-great salvation" that we do so in the integrity of God Himself and never show forth lies and untruths which in reality reveal that we are not born-again, and the Spirit of Truth does not reside in our lives and declare us as children of truth but instead children of lies [Gr. "traducer" translated as "devil" in the KJV.]
But we never know who the other member is until they open their mouth (or keyboards) and post about God and the things of God. But every true, born-again child of God is commanded to speak the truth without malice. And based upon the knowledge God gives me as one of His kids He will teach me truth in my inward parts and when I do speak about my Father (God) I tell the truth for if I do not do this, whether in ignorance or lack of knowledge or even through omission of facts, then I am revealed not as a trueborn Christian but as a deceiver and liar, and Scripture does say liars do not have the Spirit of God dwelling in them and they are instead contrary and antichrist. So, if you are Christian take heed. This is not difficult to understand.
In Genesis 20:7 is the first mention of the Hebrew word [נָבִיא nābîʾ] translated in the KJV as "prophet" (Strong's #5030) and defined as: from [#5012] (naba’); a prophet or (generical) inspired man.
And the question naturally follows: Who is inspiring you? God or the adversary (which is man, yourself.)
7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
Genesis 20:7.
There is no difference between "prophet" and "prophecy" in Scripture.
A prophet called of God will do two things. They will either "fore-tell" or they will "forth-tell."
Prophecy, on the other hand, is that which comes out of their mouths and reveals whether they are of God or are not. So, when we post about God and this "so-great salvation" we are either speaking the truth or speaking lies.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Revelation 19:10.
Testifying and giving witness about our experiences and the knowledge gained through them as Christian speaks volumes about who we are in this life. We are either of God or we are not. And if we are not of God then we are automatically under a curse as Abimelech almost learned and the curse is death if he did not honor the "inspired man" in the person of Abraham called of God and given great promises in his life. And we know that this inspired man had God Almighty as his inspiration. And inspired men of God will always speak the truth of God in their words and in their conduct as the instruction in Jeremiah reveals.
13 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
15 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those [false] prophets be consumed.
Jeremiah 14:13–15.
And that consummation has several forms.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue [or keyboard]: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Proverbs 18:21.
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Genesis 3:15.
We are truthful and show ourselves as children of God and His seed, or we are children of lies and the seed of the serpent. Lies will bruise our heel (walk of life) but the truth will bruise their head (kill-shot.)
Judgment begins in the House of God. And those not in the House (of God) are condemned already.
What comes out of your mouth reveals what is in your heart.
