Sayings of Jesus on the atonement

One reason why there are those who disagree with and attack PSA is that many do not understand. There are many who are misled away from this essential belief. I believe I have experienced seeing this effect on some people. If some of these people had a good understanding of the doctrine, it may have been avoided.

On the other hand, I think another reason why many people disagree with and attack PSA is because they DO understand. The logic of PSA leads inexorably to TULIP, which they hate.

"hate" seems such a mild word for their reactions, but indeed they hate the doctrine.

Your thoughts on PSA are?
The OT sacrificial system is the pattern for the sacrifice of Christ.
In that system, sacrifices were a penalty for sin (Lev 5:6, 7, 15, 6:6, 26:41, 43).
Jesus died as a penalty for sin (Ro 3:25).
God's response to sin is punitive (Lev 26:41, Lk 12:47-48, Ro 2:8).

If you would, please point some of that out. It would be great.

Thanks, sorry for the pun, but that does maker "sense." :)

It wasn't my post but I do agree with you. We have all made enough typos it's fairly simple to also be the spell check...

Haha

Yes, I myself often make typos, and I frequently don't notice them until it is too late to edit the post concerned.

And that ain't good on this website with so little time to amend.
"I wouldn't know..." nose in the air, wagging the head just a bit —"I'm on the staff!" sniffs imperiously
