MacArthur was not a dispensationalist IMO but the following would explain his position more clearly.

start at 18:05

Aside: a lot of good questions/answers on this clip
I disagree, brother. I believe he was a dispensationalist, and I also believe there was evidence of it besides him even admitting it, even though he claimed he was a leaky one. He also believed and taught that Amillennialism is replacement theology (supersessionism). The most amazing thing many Calvinists found puzzling ( I may have used the wrong words here) was his soteriology, which was Calvinistic, which does not mix well with the dispensationalist hermeneutic. You remember his statement? Why every self-respecting Calvinist is a premillennialist

MacArthur identifying himself as a historical dispensationalist:

“I just want you to know that I am a historical dispensationalist, pretribulational, premillennialist.”

Well, you're probably correct. I think the short clip I attached would be a better description of his dispensational leanings.

Macarthur said he was a "leaky" dispensationalist.

I believe he stated this in his series on the doctrines of grace.

He definitely divides Israel and the church.

My Reformed Baptist church is very much not Dispensational, but Covenantal. In fact, we consider the New Covenant to be a sort of Old Covenant with the old shroud removed, so to speak. It is the same covenant God has had, all along, 'expressed' differently. Rev 21 repeats what is the theme throughout Scripture: "God with us"
I hold to Historical premil, and would see that the new Covenant was indeed a brand new one, that superseded the Old one as being far superior to it

There are many more Calvinist Baptists, who would tend to see doctrines and theology as Dr macArthur had, while a smaller group of RB would see it as Covenant, Confession of faith 1689, but both would hold to doctrines of grace
