Man must exercise his free will?

Yes, and Calvinists are Sola Scripturists; but Hyper Calvinists are not. Calvinists believe that God Draws All Men. Sola Scriptura should read the Bible, "As Is"...

Repentance ~ by ReverendRV * September 3

John 6:44 KJV
; "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Jesus often spoke to the people in Parables, and it could be confusing to the masses. He would describe himself as coming from Heaven, like the Manna which fed the Israelites in ancient days during their wilderness walk. Those who heard him say it about himself, were confused. They asked, “Isn’t this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he say, ‘I came from heaven’?” ~ They knew Jesus and his family well; but couldn’t fathom the thought he came from Heaven. Jesus said, 'Stop complaining because no one can come to me unless God my Father draws them to me.' Jesus Christ explained why; ‘Those who come are first taught by God, and everyone one of these will come’…

Being drawn to God is like the pull of a magnet. God is the GREAT magnet who draws all things to him. We’re not like lifeless iron filings who have no say so, which can only fly to the Magnet; we are magnets ourselves. We can choose to turn to God or choose to turn away from him; or so it seems. If it were the case, why does the Bible say we’re drawn like heavy water from a well? God is like a Magnet which always has its North Magnetic Pole facing us; if our southern magnetic poles were facing God, then we would fly to him faster than scrap metal and be in Heaven! ~ This never happens because of Sin. Have you Committed Adultery? No? Jesus said if you’ve lusted, you’ve Committed Adultery in your Heart. A part of us has our magnetic poles turned to oppose God’s drawing and we are repelled from God by our own forces. The reason we’re not blasted completely from God into Hell, is due to the Gracious pull of the greater Magnet; He attracts us because we we’re made in the image of God. What we need is to have our Poles turned to God…

The Bible says God will give us a New Heart, because from out of the Heart comes all kinds of Vile Sins. A New Heart is like having our magnetic poles turned, and now we are Attracted to God! We draw near to God without him having to increase his Magnetic Field in order to overpower us against our Will. When we have a change of heart, we stop resisting the Drawing and move toward God. ~ If you’re Willing to Repent, which means changing direction like inverting the position of our Magnetic Poles; then you are ready for the Gospel! Sinners are Saved by the Grace of God through Faith in Jesus Christ as our Risen Lord God; without you doing anything to earn your Forgiveness. Repent of your Sins, Confess Jesus Christ to be your Lord God; join your local Church and study the Bible. ~ There will be no more Hell since you are heading away from it! Other Sinners will seem more distant to you because of the separation which is now growing between you and them. You will be drawn to the Bible, the Church and to other Believers. Repenting will set you in a whole new direction. ~ God is personal; Jesus is attractive, the Lover of your soul. He is a friend that ‘sticks’ closer than a brother…

John 6:65 NIV; He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”
Then why don’t you actually believe what it says?

We must believe and obey both Christ and the church He founded on the apostles (Matt 16:18-19) to teach and sanctify all men unto eternal salvation! (Matt 28:19)

(Not scripture alone)
Sacred Scripture according to the churches cannon and interpretation? Yes!
Scripture alone? No!

Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things by, by whom also he made the worlds;

“Not by scripture alone”!

That’s the nail in the coffin of “Sola scriptura” it is dead and buried, “false doctrine” the doctrine of demons like all the sola’s!

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Jn 1:17

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life! Jn 14:6

And this extends to His apostolic church, Christ and His church are one and inseparable! Acts 9:4 Jn 15:5 eph 5:32 acts 2:42

Jesus Christ is the Light of the world! Jn 8:12
Apostolic church the light of the world! Matt 5:14

Must Hear Jesus Christ! Matt 17:5
Acts 3:23
Must Hear the apostolic church! Matt 18:17 1 Jn 4:6

Authority of Jesus Christ! Matt 28:17
Authority of the apostles! Jn 20:21

Jesus Christ has Reconciliation!
2 cor 5:19
Apostles have ministry of Reconciliation! 2 cor 5:18

Jesus Christ have power to forgive mens sins! Lk 5:20 Jn
Apostles have power to forgive mens sins! Jn 20:23

Jesus Christ is the truth! Jn 14:6
The apostolic church is the pillar of truth! 1 Tim 3:16

For the apostolic authority in Holy church decided and decreed (bound on earth / bound in heaven) the canon of Scripture, and is the only authentic interpreter of scripture!

The Christian faith is revealed by Christ!

Jesus Christ before ascending to heaven gave His apostles the fullness of truth, the apostolic church our mother and teacher is commanded by Him to teach and to sanctify with her sacraments (the promise of the spirit) all men unto eternal salvation! We are commanded to believe and obey! Matt 28:19

How can the Protestant concept: “sacred scripture is the only infallible source of truth” be true? There must be some infallible source that must tell us what is the canon of scripture & has authority to interpret scripture!

We're Saved by Grace through Faith, not by Works; yet we are Born Again FOR Good Works. These Good Works are of the Freed Will, right?

Once the Will is Freed, we boldly approach the Throne of Grace; without ever twisting God's Arm...

Can you name a Good Work you've done since you were Born Again, that you Willingly chose to do?

In Calvinism, we're Born Again before we Willingly choose to do the Work of Believing unto Justification. The Work of God is this; to Believe on the One Sent. This Post-Regenerative Work depends on our Belief in the Truth, to Justify us in the Sight of God; otherwise a Person is Rocky, Weedy or Trodden Soil. Justification without Sola Fide, is Universalism...

RC Sproul believed in Synergy in Sanctification, without believing in Synergy in Election. We can believe in Synergy in Justification, without holding to Synergy in Election...

That's where I am at, in my Soteriology...
We are saved by Grace through faith, by the Works of Jesus, not our own works. By His works God offers the gift of salvation. We are born again for good works, but can the Holy Spirit indwell a sinner? I mean, the Holy Spirit is what makes the believer born again. To approach God for salvation is a work. That is synergistic. Yet salvation is not synergistic, it is monergistic. Consider Saul on the road to Damascus. When did he approach Throne of Grace? He didn't. God dropped it on him, killing him. Only Paul managed to survive. (A very visible representation of the death of the old man, and birth of the new... right down to a name change.)

We are born again at the moment of salvation/justification. Consider regeneration being us entering the womb again, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and salvation is us being born anew in salvation. Born again. Regeneration is not salvation, and it is not justification. It is our dead spirit, incapable of understanding the gospel, or anything that is understood through the spirit. We are only natural men, incapable of understanding, until regeneration. We see that in Saul when He get knocked down by Jesus on the way to Damascus. His regeneration comes with the realization of exactly who he is and what he has done, after Jesus tells Him. He now understands exactly what he has been doing, and is crushed. He is broken. That was regeneration.

Since you link salvation with justification (not regeneration with justification), then you are saying in Calvinism we believe in a works based salvation because we "choose to do the Work of Believing unto Justification." Christianity is not a meritocracy where we have to do any work for salvation/justification. It is all God. We still have to live, but everything that occurs has nothing to do with us, but the grace and mercy of God, and His gift of grace.

1. There is no synergy in salvation/justification/being born again. First comes regeneration, then comes faith which is our reaction to our understanding of the gospel and who we are, and then we are born again passing from this world into the Kingdom. With our being born again and receiving salvation, we are no longer considered outcast sinners by God, but justified in His sight by what Christ did on the cross. Sin no longer stands between us and God, and it is God who declares it so. There is no synergy in justification. There is no meritocracy in justification. There is Jesus and what He did on the cross which gives God the right to declare us justified.

2. There is synergy in sanctification in that we walk... in the good works that He has prepared for us before hand. So sanctification is hand in hand with God. He prepares good works for us before hand, and we walk in them. That sounds like perfect synergy.

3. Being born again and being saved/justified are not synergistic. While we do things, we are not the cause. We are by the effect of God's work, with God being the cause. Even Nicodemus understood when he asked if it was possible to crawl back into the womb to be born again. The obvious answer is no. No we can't.

In my understanding of soteriology, first comes the regeneration of our spirit (say, conception). Then comes our reaction to regeneration. Conviction, understand, and faith/belief in the one who by His name and His name only, are we saved. At that point comes salvation, justification, and being born again. (So regeneration is the supernatural reentry into the womb, and salvation/justification/born again is the end result. A new born believer.

So... No synergy in election. No synergy in salvation. No synergy in justification. Perfect harmonious synergy in sanctification.

To note: I am considering this all from the perspective of God. When you look from man's perspective, things look different, for obvious reasons. We are temporal, God is not. We can't see beyond the next second, but God has already seen the next age. He has already been there. He is there. He will be there. Eternity is such a difficult concept to grasp.

We still are made in the image and likeness of God (intellect & will)
Self determination and free will and can reject Christ and cast off the yoke of our baptism or by deadly sin be separated from God and Gis grace and to die unrepentant in this state means eternal damnation!

There can be no heavenly reward or hell punishment with “free will”!

No righteousness or iniquity without “free will”!

Dogma revealed truth taught by the apostolic church. Matt 28:19

122. The Human Will remains free under the influence of efficacious grace, which is not
irresistible.

Thanks
