I agree we can empowered by God obey God according to the law of

Romans 3:30-31King James Version Seeing it is
one God, which shall justify the circumcision by
faith,

faith. Do we then make void the

faith?

God forbid: yea, we establish

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the

we should serve in
newness of

oldness of the

(dead never to rise to new life)
In Romans 7, Paul said that the Law of God is good and that he wanted to do good, but contrasted that with the law of sin that was working within his members to cause him not to do the good that we want to do. In Romans 7:7, Paul said that the Law of God is not sinful, but is how we know what sin is, and when our sin is revealed, then that leads us to repent and causes sin to decrease, however, in Romans 7:5, the law of sin stirs up sinful passions in order to bear fruit unto death, so it is sinful and causes sin to increase. In Romans 7:22-23, Paul said that he delighted in the Law of God, but contrasted that with the law of sin that held him captive, and in Romans 7:6, Paul spoke about being set free from a law that held us captive, so he was speaking about the law of sin, not the being set free from Scripture as it is written. In regard to the oldness of the letter:
2 Corinthians 3:6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
In Jeremiah 31:33, the New Covenant involves God putting His law in our minds and writing it on our hearts, and in Ezekiel 36:26-27, it involves God taking away our hearts of stone, giving us hearts of flesh, and sending His Spirit to lead us in obedience to His law. In
Exodus 33:13, Moses wanted God to be gracious to him by teaching him to walk in His way that he and Israel might know him, in
1 Kings 2:1-3, God taught how to walk in His way through the Law of Moses, and in
John 17:3, eternal life is knowing God and Jesus. So eternal life has everything to do with walking in God's way and both Abraham and Moses walked in God's way and taught others to do that in accordance with spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Moreover, there are many verses that connect God's way and the Law of Moses with life. In
Deuteronomy 30:11-20, says that the Law of Moses is not too difficult to obey and that obedience to it brings life and a blessing while disobedience brings death and a curse, so choose life! Moreover,
Romans 10:5-8 references
Deuteronomy 30:11-20 as the word of faith that we proclaim. In
Deuteronomy 32:45-46, the Mosaic Law is our very life. In
Proverbs 3:18, it is a Tree of Life for all who take hold of it. In
Proverbs 6:23, for the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life. In
Revelation 22:14, those who obeyed God's commandments are given the right to eat from the Tree of Life. In
Hebrews 5:9, Jesus has become a source of eternal salvation for those who obey him. In
John 14:6-7, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and the way to know the Father. In
Matthew 19:17, Jesus said that the way to enter eternal life is by obeying God's commandments. In
Luke 10:25-28, obedience to the greatest two commandments is the way to inherit eternal life. In
Romans 2:6-7, those who persist in doing good will be given eternal life. In
Romans 6:19-23, no longer presenting ourselves as slaves to impurity, lawlessness, and sin is contrasted with now presenting ourselves as slaves to God and to righteousness leading to sanctification and the goal of sanctification is eternal life in Christ, which is the gift of God, so being an obeyer of the Law of Moses is the content of God's gift of eternal life.
So if we are to believe that the whole Bible is true, then we need to understand what 2 Corinthians 3:6 says about the letter bringing death in a way that is in agreement with these others verses rather than a way that contradicts them. If following the letter refers to following Scripture as it is written and that leads to death, then God should not be trusted to guide us, so clearly following the letter is not referring to following Scripture as written.
