After man has been regenerated, they then have God given faith..Faith is what is pleasing to God....
We have the new man in our spirit as we have been birthed in the Spirit.
I believe we still have that old man nature, that starts to die, as soon as we have been birthed in the Spirit...it’s a battle at the beginning..gets much easier as we grow and mature in Christ..we learn to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh ,our old nature..just my thoughts.
Say goodbye to yourself if you are Born Again...you are being made into the image of Jesus, Through the power of the Holy Spirit...God’s will...will be done, there can be no stopping it!...we were Born Again for a reason.chosen for God’s purposes and plans..we are not our own, we belong to God and he can do what ever is pleasing to him ..with us...and NOTHING can separate us from him” NOTHING “.
We have not yet been experientially functioning into the image of Jesus Christ. Its a process of sanctification and transformation that must take place. Its not automatic. To think it is automatic would lead us to become arrogant in who we think we are. Positional truth has God declaring us as He sees us, to be according to what He knows absolutely will come to pass.
Believers at present remain in a state of having their soul making choices that will determine our standing with God .
Here is one example of how we are not automatically transformed (in our experience) into thew image of Christ.
If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death,
you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does
not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you
should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not
lead to death." 1 John 5:16-17
False doctrine prevents any believer from achieving transformation into the image of Christ. For He is the Word that was made flesh.
If its not sound doctrine we are seeking? We will not achieve the status of being what God desires all Christians to have.
Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone
turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit
of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the
Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which
comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:15-18
Keep in mind those Christians being written to were under mature teachers who were dedicated to study and to teach daily.
Nothing like the type of conventional dulled down teaching we find almost everywhere today. They received teachings that
were rich in content. They all spoke the Greek language, so the need for exegesis in regards to Greek tenses was not needed.
When a Greek phrase indicated something was permanent and continuous they did not get into theological debates on such
things as the indwelling Spirit and eternal security.
