I enjoy reading through games from the past. I used to play quite a bit of speed chess in a place called "The Last Exit" in Washington state. Was a very sad day when the owner passed away and the place withered away due to lack of funds ( it was the owners hobby it turns out ). Found out there that I'd never be a world champion so put it down for other pursuits.

Long way of saying "Yes...but I don't play anymore." Good luck finding someone to play.

On the bright side it taught me to stay away from games of competition and gambling.

I never gamble; but I do compete in online tournaments sometimes, for fun, and to try to keep my brain sharp.

I have mis-read cheese for chess.

I loved the game up until my early 20's. My dad taught me and then I was able to beat him in my mid teens, my cousin was good and we would play all of the time. I was never good enough to compete at a tournament level. I was good enough in billiards and table tennis though and played in tournaments

I used to play a bit, but not for years. When I was a lad, a doctor my mom worked for taught me and that led to him taking me to an ivy league prep school to be tested.
