Did Jesus die the Second Death?

Now there is much in the Bible about going to the grave when you die, but this is just the death appointed to all.
Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

But we have in the scripture what is the the second death which is the penalty for sin...
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Did Christ die the second death on the cross, and can you give Biblical backing for this.

I would offer. If its appointed for mankind to die as in dying coming to a end "good as dead" and not rising .What is it if it is not human remains tossed in the judgment fire? It is something that brought sufferings called hell .. . . . . . The death of death? ??????

A retrial double jeopardy? Therefore not as good as dead ?

Hebrews 11:12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

No, Christ did NOT die the "second death" on the cross, because "it is appointed unto men ONCE to die, and after this the judgment" - not a second death after that. The "second death" was the second time that the city of Jerusalem and its temple had died.

The first death of Jerusalem and its temple was in 586 BC under the Babylonians.

The "second death of Jerusalem and its temple was in 70 AD.

BOTH TIMES scripture says that "Death and Hell" (Hades - the grave) were sent. In Isaiah 28:14-19, God described the scornful men who ruled the people in Jerusalem who had made an agreement with Death and with Hell, that these should not come unto them. They were believing a lie, because God told them that their covenant with both Death and Hell would not stand. These plagues of Death and Hell would overcome them and tread those rulers down when "the overflowing scourge shall pass through". The city would be besieged by the Babylonians, and God would visit upon it the "flame of devouring fire". The entire book of Lamentations is nothing more than a funeral dirge for the death of Jerusalem, its temple, and the nation which had gone into exile.

The conditions of Jerusalem's first death under the Babylonians would be duplicated again in AD 70, when God would again visit the city, turning the city into a "Lake of Fire", with Death and Hell thrown into the city once again (Revelation 20:14) to destroy it for the city's "second death".

God can raise the dead so to die the first or death appointed to man is not the end if one accepts the gift of life that Christ offers us. But if we turn it away then the death from which there is no return awaits, the lake of fire where the wicked are separated from God for the wages of sin, the second death.

I see that a little differently today . One death appointment of dying mankind. The other the death of death and it sufferings it causes. . the pangs of hell a living sufferings.

The letter what the eyes see."Thou shall not or you will die and body turn to dust and temporal spirit given under the law. . the letter of the law(death)the spirit returns to the Father of all spirit life.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Again the death of the instrument of death. It will not rise up in the new heavens and earth. Neither will it come to mind ever again forever more

Normal death?

The death that comes by the letter of the law, as it is written. It is the appointment we are carrying out in these earthen bodies of death.

Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

The death of death. The second death, the letter of the law the written word of God along with the daily sufferings of hell will be cast into the judgment of Christ. Death will not rise up and condemn to death another whole Creation

Death the letter of the law will not be remembered or ever come to mind .

No double jeopardy or mistrial
