Deep Fakes

I didn't infer that God was trying to convert 'thinking' machines. God was trying to convert Bibles either, but God can use both bibles and "thinking" machine (AI) to facilitate our understanding of God.

Straw man argument (A straw man argument is a fallacy where someone misrepresents or distorts an opponent's argument to make it easier to attack, thus creating a "straw man" that is easily defeated. It's a tactic used to avoid engaging with the actual argument being made by the other person.)

the only thing a thinking machine can do is extend upon what has been programmed in it. If you tell it 'the temple he was speaking of was his body' it won't know whether it is supposed to do that every time it sees the term 'temple' and you have only an either/or mess.

I don't understand the war on discovery and memory. You research a topic with, for ex., a concordance. You memorize outstanding findings. Who on earth would not want to do so? In a classical education, which we have abandoned, the student is intended to operate on the level of fundamental questions by the time they are in their 7th or 8th year. See for ex., ClassicalConversations.com. Or see the essay by D. Sayers on education, written some 70 years ago, one of the Inklings, with Lewis.

then let me know what straw is.

I have not heard his defense of penal substitutionary atonement—and, frankly, it surprises me to hear that he would support it (because it's at odds with his views).
Interesting, you never heard of his defence or of his book on it.

If you have the chance and are interested check out his book,

Not enough times.

I meant "I don't know the bible front to back" I use to think I did.

Paul Washer recommended immersing yourself in Scripture, doing nothing for an entire year or two but Scripture. No sermons no scholars no nothing but prayer and the Word of God front to back, front to back front to back.

That's what I did when I was first saved.

That's all I'm saying. Those verses are what comes to mind when you need them.

I asked: Are you Roman Catholic?

Reply:.

No, sister—I am not Roman Catholic.

I do not submit to the papacy, I do not believe in purgatory, indulgences, transubstantiation, or the infallibility of Church tradition alongside Scripture.

I am Reformed and Protestant, standing in the tradition of the Reformers who cried:

I honor many Roman Catholics as image-bearers and, at times, even as courageous voices for moral truth—but I reject the Roman system’s additions to the gospel, which obscure the sufficiency of Christ and the finality of His work.

That is the gospel I cling to. That is the gospel I proclaim.
One sacrifice. One righteousness. One Savior.
Christ—and no other.
Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s , and unto god the things that are God’s.

The United States also makes its best civil (meaning secular) effort to mediate for you. If you had been captured in the fall of Tehran, the United States’ Oliver North would have attempted to rescue you from Islamic slavery, in spite of Dan Inouye’s being a traitor in the Senate.

Not even Paul Washer'?

Gee, I thought Washer said 'no sermons'.
But then again, who is Paul Washer to tell what a newborn babe can and cannot do?

I believe he was only talking about the conference type sermons everyone watches on YouTube and such.

But you are certainly right.

Though I should add, there might be something to be said for at least some guidance.

something positive can be said for giving decent advice. .
