Been lots of theories on if or when this will happen.
The main discussion about it is from scripture that says the beast will have it's image there and people will worship the beast.
You even hear there are some Christians groups that contribute (money or other support) to assure this temple is built.

So here's my question about the above .....
WHY would any Christian have the desire to contribute to a temple building that will specifically promote the false worship of a false god??????

Because they think that they will make the rapture come quicker. They are so deceived

I agree with @Fred and @Marty.

I also know the temple will be rebuilt...why? The Bible mentions a future temple.
As a Christian I can't speed up or slow down the timing of the rapture.

Prior to Israel becoming a nation again I could have read the bible and said...that event would happen. That event happened back in 1948.
We can read aout the fig tree...Matt 32-35:
We can also deduce that the generation mentioned there is this current generation.

Now, can christians give to the rebuilding of the temple with the hopes of it being rebuilt? Yup. Perhaps that's Gods way of funding the future event of the rebuilding of the temple to fulfill prophecy.

Let us do evil, that good may come (Rom. 3:8)
Best answer so far, when you read the whole verse.

Romans 3:8
And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.

With that kind of logic then I guess God could have Christians rob their neighbors to have more money to send for such a wicked thing as a temple for worship of the beast.

Scripture speaks of the two sticks (Judah & Israel) becoming one again.
But the conditions of that scripture do not line up with the conditions that exist in the state of Israel today.

Where does it mention a future physical temple (a third temple) being built? By who? and for what?

Yes, a Christian following the apostle's teaching should be horrified. But that comes after realizing that Mt24A is about the 1st century situation...

Exactly Israel didn’t repent and turn back to God thus they are in constant threat and haven’t had peace yet

They also persecuted and shut down Christian churches back in 1948 was that Gods plan? Is the Israel today really Gods plan and will?

A temple for worship of the beast.
Why would any Christian want to give their support for such a thing??
It was mentioned some believe this would quicken the coming of the rapture.
Some believe they should support Israel in all things.

There are other reasons.

God could have allowed the holocaust attempted extermination of the Jews by the Nazi's to allow for the return of the Jews.

You forget the bible says the temple will be rebuilt. We know it will happen...some how...because the bible speaks of its existence in the future.

Neither do the countries mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39.....But we see an alignment forming.

All those questions are not answered.

We can see the rebuilt temple in 2 Thes 2: 3Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessnesss revealed, the son of destruction,4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

You tell me.

Explain how that rules out the fact Israel became a nation again.....and....how it rules out the 3rd temple.

That has nothing to do with what I said so yes or no?

Is it Gods will to have Christ rejecting nations persecute Christians?

We do not actually see the rebuilt temple in 2 Thess 2. We do however see a temple in 1 Cor 3:16 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spriit dwells in you? I anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple. (This refers to the corporate body of Christ.)

And in Eph 2:19-22 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and dmemebers of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone in whom the whole Structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. (Here we have direct allusions to the temple that stood as the center of worship in Jerusalem. It was what signified the presence of God with his people. Paul is dealing here with Gentiles who were alienated from God and the temple, and the ordinances and covenants of promise---11-18.

1 Peter 2:4-6 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stand in Scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."

That is the temple we do see being built so there is no need or excuse really, to imagine another physical temple being built. It would have been just as easy to be direct about that, as it was to be direct about the temple in the above verses.

So you see, there are other ways of interpreting the passages in 2 Thess 2, so your interpretation cannot stand as the only one or even as the correct one. If the temple referred to is the Church, how would you interpret the passage?

That would mean that the rebuilt temple actually is the temple of God. If the Jews of Israel are even so much as planning to rebuild the temple that God destroyed, and reestablish their worship system, that is nothing short of rejecting Christ all over again! Your eschatology of 2 Thess presents it as the actual temple of God. Do the math.
